Aces SdkFz 251 + German Equipment Mods Update plus SPM1.5 June 12 Compat Fix

This mod includes both updated files for my recent SDFFZ251 v3 mod and my German Equipment mod v2 and also files fixes to make

both of these mods compatable with the Steel Panzer Mod v1.5 June 2012 Update patch mod.

But it crashes when loading at 11% more or less...

Is it necessary to install any other mod?

Hi mate,

Sorry to hear that, I tested it pretty thoroughly I thought, I don't think other mods are required but I'll check asgain today. This is driving me nuts :)

EDIT, That's odd I just disabled all my mods and installed just the minimal required mods as per your list and everything worked just fine, how bizare!.

My game crashes too after about %11 on a mission start up. I have just the minimal files installed. But a funny thing: without the compat fix, everything works fine. I can see the new Skdfz251 and the new German soldiers (they look great!). What am i doing wrong here??

Hi chaps and thanks for the feedback,

I don't think anyone's doing anything wrong, this is the perenial problem with mixed mods and files left over from previous mods. I disabled the fix and everything works fine although, without the fix there's bound to be several files that have been changed by my mods that and they are required to run SPM1.5 as intended. I merged the differences from my mods into the equivalent files supplied with SPM1.5  latest update and it is those that are in the fix. I'm going to do another fresh install and then a game snapshot with JSGME so that I can compare files that have changed and thus eliminate any residue from previous mod installs as, from experiencee, excellent a program as JSGME is, things do sometimes get left behind. If all else fails, I'll zip up all the various config files and upload thejm somewhere for you to try.

Thank you very much for all your help !

I have been doing additional tests and the results depend on the mission that I try to play. For example, If I go to the "Friedericus 1" campaign, I can play the second mission (Nepokrytoe) without any problems, but I can not play the first mission (Peschanoye).

If I go to the "Combat episodes", I can not play the "June 23th 1941" mission, nor the "August 17th 1944" mission.

Unfortunatelly I have a lot of real life work at the moment and I can not test extensively. However I will try to test more...

That's very helpful of you. I will try these missions and others.

I guess it's not strictly neccessary to load the Wehrmacht Early Warr Mod but I'd recommend it as it compliments my work.

EDIT: I just loaded the first three missions of Fredricus 1 as a quick test and they all loaded just fine, the plot thickens ?!.

2nd EDIT: I just successfuly ran the June 23th 1941 combat episodes mission but the June 23th 1941 mission will not load, I haven't yet tried this mission without my mods and fix, I will try this next

3rd EDIT:  I just tested the June 23th 1941 mission and it crashes for me with or without my mods/fix activated.

I have just noticed something that can be the explanation for the compatibility problems:

It seems that Mistwalker updates periodically his "SPM1.5_ultimate_update_patch_(v.June 9th ENG)" patch to fix little errors...

I have just downloaded it and I have noticed that some of the files have a time stamp corresponding to today (June, 24, 2012).

Perhaps those little updates are affecting the overall compatibility, because we are using slightly different versions of the update ???

Good thinking mate,

I'll try  and get the latest and have a look but if he's changed the files yet again the I might have more work cut out editing the files all over again.

With a bit of luck it might just a file and not half a dozen to edit.


BTW where did you download the later version of the SPM ultimate update patch?

I am asking it because its config files are quite old and Jochem Hraback is not using it and it seems that everything is working fine for him...

Ok, i'm stumped. I did a fresh install of the game then installed the SPM 1.5 ultimate as per instruction ect... Now, i've lost a bunch of missions that were there before and that i assume were part of the new SPM. And then Aces mods that were working before now crashes the game on start up. So first off can i get a list of all the campaigns and missions i'am suppose to have? For example, i use to have all the missions called 1.5 NTA 1.3, now there gone. And i had a hard time to get my grass back...

Which missions NTA1.3 are you talking about?Lockie's mission pack 1.0c?????I think it's probably because NTA1.3 is not compatible with Ultimate. In order to get them back you may have to make another install of Beta NTa1.3 only. i personally have 11 different installations of SF some with different version the original Beta 1.5, NTA 1.3, NTA 1.4 , Ultimate with March patch , Ultimate with May patch etc...I have other installs just for testing new mods so I don't screw up my playable versions.

Ok, what i did is i uninstalled all the mods in order to install the new ultimate mods etc... when i started the game, i could see 1.5 nta1.3 missions in the list. I thought great, the're still there. And they worked too. Now after the fresh install, they are gone.

To have those missions in your game you need to install them.

The Mission Pack (Mission Pack 1.0с) can be downloaded here:

And you have to install it (as any other mission) following this order:

1.Unofficial patch_SF_v0.1_(ENG)
2. SPM 1.5 beta
3. Mission Pack 1.0с *********************
4. SPM 1.5 ultimate update
5. SPM 1.5 ultimate update patch

In principle it should work if you install it following that order.

I'm so sorry that you have had problems. I'm really stumped I have treid quite a few combinatiojns of mods and, apart from a couple of missions that won't run with or without my mods/patch everything works. I'm posting my latest mod install order in case it helps. I did look at the 9th June update patch and install it but there was only one config file that was later than those that I included in the patch and it didn't contain anything relevant to the problem but I did update my patch accordingly.

I'll keep testing, in the meantime here's something that I've been working on. I've used the exisitng Kubelwagon model (credit to its creator) an added radio equipment annd accessories, to make....

Hi mate,

Yes, thanks, the V3 is my current WIP version for testing new features. The v2 is the current release version. This is difficult to identify as I cannot replicate the problem/s. I have stripped things down to the bare minimum as well as shuffling the mod order but it runs just about every mission except a couople and even these won't run with or without the mod so they're not very helpful diagnostically. I have a second game install and I tried with that one and the same thing and also with a third, new , fresh install.

I think I have found something:

My problem seems to be in the "Aces German Personnel Equipment Mod v2 (inc. signals crew)".

If I activate just these mods I get problems in a lot of missions:

I really wish I had better news to report since Aces work looks outstanding.

Thanks everyone. I've been rather busy as there's been multiple Birthdays lately including my OH's which is today. I've also nearly finished the Kubelwagon radio car so will have more time real soon to see if I can spot the problem. I did look and the only difference in files between v1 and v2 of my equipment mod are related to the addition of the radio gear but I'll look again. As every mission  loads with or without the mod/fix I'm rather stumped butn we'll sort it out soon I'm sure.
