I am very grateful to have the following spec:

Intel Core i5 750 @ 2.67GHz
8.00 GB DDR3
GeForce GTX 560 Ti (EVGA) 1GB

With Steel Fury installed to the SSD
120GB Kingston (SSD)

 Excellent specs!

Murkz did you have any issues with the game not recognising your gpu and ascribing minimum graphic memory(128 mbs) instead of the real value?I am referring to the posts by sam1133 who has not been able to play the game - with high res and quality graphics - despite having a very powerful Nvidia GTX680M.

I haven't frinik, is it a dx version issue? Has sam moved the obscured slider "set image quality" in video options.

I think I advised him to do just that but not sure if he did>>>>

I have a lovely pic of Kyth mission 06 or 08 with the Panzer 38t with the sunrise shining brightly on the battlefield with burning tanks( including mine ) greeting Helios in all his glory ;D

Lovely shot of the Panzer 38t, and the other one too  ;D

I find that those missions go well with the new "Stuka" sound effects, historically the Luftwaffe was out in force for that campaign,

Murkz; unfortuntaely I don't have a fileshare webpage.I had one and I forgot twice my password and they booted me out :-[  Perhaps I can mail them to somebody who can post them.

Actually a while ago I wasthinking of doing a weekly best SF pic contest.People would post their best 3 pics of SF and a jury panel would give vote on the top 3 pics based on originality, artistic value and quality of the image.Did not come forward with the idea as I throught perhaps people might not be receptive....

Donken your buildings are truly great .They would make for good missions using predominantly infantry, artillery and AT guns, APCs rather than tanks... You'd need to put streets or roads.Are the buildings fully destructible?Do they burn?

Register an account on imageshack. I use that one and im still happy with it after all years :D

And about the buildings. I have done nothing with the esthetic stuff. So they are just static non movable "big bricks" atm. Because i dont want to waste hours of hours to make them that advanced without knowing first if the more important things will work like the pathfinding and if its possible to have a battle at all between the streets :D Thats also why i didnt bother making any roads, i just flattened a 1x1km big area and placed them a little there and there :D

Usually its not a good idea to have fullsize pictures visible in a thread, its better to make them smaller or get a clickable thumbnail. Reason is that for lots of person its gonna load the pictures very slow, it also is a problem for people with smaller screens :D

Hi whukid
No it's still the same Winter Beta Mod III that was released a couple months back, now the original Winter Beta Mod was released a couple years back and was a really good first try, but it was really barren looking (too barren), heres a couple screenshots of the first Winter Beta Mod to give you an ideal of what I mean.

(http://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae47/godzilla85/shell2009-11-2913-28-58-44.jpg)

(http://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae47/godzilla85/shell2009-11-2913-37-17-97.jpg)

As for the skins in Winter Beta Mod III you could change them to whatever you feel looks more pleasing to the ol'Mk I's and offer it to the community as a optional fix, I don't think stone2009 or maleshkin would mind as long as you give them credit where due. If I recall correctly stone2009 did say it was okay for anyone to make improvements/add content to this mod as long as he and Maleshkin are given credit for the original mod (if I'm wrong on this I'm sure someone will be along to correct me  ;D ).
Cheers

The green patches in the first picture, could the colour be toned down a little bit, so they blend it a bit more :) as my eye was drawn too them.

We will soon need a full-time weather forecaster in the game???? ;D

Hi mate,

New uniforms were in my recent SS add-on and a bit more new work, like the flare pistol that I showed you yesterday plus all the uniforms and sidecaps have the shine removed.

Top work on the Panther, congratulations, it looks superb.

There's a feature to share the image on 4Shared.com but it's for members only. This also affects downloading now. (4Shared is starting to be a real pain)  :(

By the way, for image sharing, I use Picasaweb.

Hem! Just for accuracy purposes I currently have 46 installations/variants of SF ( many are duplicates) spread over 1 desktop( not 3), 3 laptops( not 2), 1 external hard disk and 1 USB stick... For now yes ,i have one final skin to finish then the files to sort for the multi mod. i will also give a manual instruction so it can be added to other mods.
All it is is a follow up to Aces multi mod and the great work he did and can be applied to others.
I will release it when i have finished the final skin along with the king tiger skin but that is proving to be a bit harder than i thought.

Indeed! The first huge battle was a real rush! Especially once the artillery started coming down right on top of the assault route and I had to punch it to make it out, all the while speeding towards the huge Soviet tank formation. Actually, I recall closing the hatch not even a second before one of those huge arty shells landed right next to my tank - what a spot of luck!

Come on KapulA it's just a pretext to show off your stats!!!! ;D

Haha, I admit, there might've been just a tiny bit of vanity in posting those 2 debriefing screens :D

And Kyth, regarding the tactics, the battle is a bit blurry as it's been some time since I've taken those screens, but iirc, they crested the hill unnoticed by me as I was embroiled in the melee with all the T-26s and T-60s, and luckily they focused their attention on the Panzer II Zug or the other 38 (t) Zug + one of my wingmen; I recall that I diverted all my attention to them after having dealt with the last of the smaller tanks and that I fired some shots at the mantlet & gun of the first KV at close range (100-200m) and proceeded to detrack it after being reasonably sure that I disabled its armament. After losing their gun and their mobility, the crew decided to ditch it, at which point (maybe because of a trigger or yours or just tactical AI) the second KV started to retreat. I gave chase and aimed for the tracks as to prevent them from escaping and proceeded to target the gun area again after immobilising it, which convinced the other crew to abandon their tank as well. I'm not sure if I managed to knock out the gun of the 2nd tank (might've been just the sights and/or hydraulics), but it mattered little in the end. There also might've been some shootin' & scootin' involved (around the bushes and shrubs at the summit of the hill), but I'm not really sure anymore.
As a P.S., here's a couple of screens from Rends's Barbarossa campaign where I managed to take out 6 KV-1Es with the long Pz III (what can I say, you brought this display of vanity upon yourselves :D)

(http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h177/kapulA_85/shot_2012_06_24_16_24_21_0000.jpg)

(http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h177/kapulA_85/shot_2012_06_24_16_24_29_0001.jpg)

(http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h177/kapulA_85/shot_2012_06_24_16_24_34_0002.jpg)

(http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h177/kapulA_85/shot_2012_06_24_16_24_39_0003.jpg)

(http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h177/kapulA_85/shot_2012_06_24_16_25_01_0004.jpg)

To be fair, it did involve a fair amount of dodging their fire by reversing into the cover of various huts, shacks and bushes, but all in all, not a bad score I think :D

It's impossible to edit model, but there's a chance to add some objects, which will cover pants.

it has been a painful job but now its there :D Finally. And as lockie said, we dont have knowledge of how to change or edit the human models. It makes it to complicated for me because the animations, Or if its possible to just add a new model and then add animations in the objecteditor or by script somehow, I have no idea :S Or we would of course have done it :D So this is the best we can do for the moment :(

But any ideas or suggestions are welcome. Or maybe any trick to change/cover errors?

Title: Re: Screenshots
Post by: kapulA on December 12, 2012, 09:11:15 PM
Ah well, I'm afraid I can't really be of much help there. Maybe check whether other models, perhaps the tankmen, match the actual shape of the GI uniform more closely? They would probably look as good as the real thing with the new gear you added - maybe make bandolier, entrenching tool and backpack models for them as well?

Title: Re: Screenshots

Anyway, it's a first steps. I'd like to tell, that all stuff, which is under making, is exactly organized for the mission. It does, that all new units will be used in the mission and more important: all units are making only for the mission purpose.

Nope :( I lost all my files when my computer died. For accuracy sake, "ON THE WAY!" is what the gunner says upon getting the order to fire. the loader should yell "UP". When the TC identifies a vehicle, he should yell "CONTACT, APC, DIRECT FRONT. Fire, Fire AP/HEAT/HE". The first "fire" is for the gunner, the second is the command for the loader to load the next round.

And now we've usa officer and usa tankman was equipped with "tommy-gun". So, we need autogunner and AT gun to create a first mission for the usa side ;)

Not so!  You just need to remember, flank shots only when using the 2-pounder pop-gun.  :D

During mission testing, I found a very funny bug :D As u can see, here is a leg of the `tiger SS` driver. Perhaps, a driver wanted to get a bit of fresh air  ;D
Any HE shot near this side of the tiger and driver come into mode `chill out`:) Of course, it happens a very rare, mostly driver keeps a hatch closed, thus all body parts are inside of the hull.

Normally at that distance, the 90mm HVAP rounds should not have penetrated the front of a Jagdtiger....

Speaking a different topic .I have been playing with the i44 mod made by Murkz and others for Arma 2.The 4 or 5 maps are absolutely stunning; 40 sq kilometres of lovely Normandy villages ( one is of Omaha Beach0and countryside and the models are great too and the sounds are excellent. The Arma AI ain't much brighter than the one in SF though. But all in all I think SF does a better job at the modeling the physics and the ballistics. But immersion-wise i44 is much better and the maps are to dream for. Murkz and his fellow modders did a splendid job. For those who have Arma 2 or Arma Gold the mod is free and easy to download and you can make your own stuff through Arma's mission editor.

They didn't. All shells vectors has a faded color.

(http://s5.postimg.org/6ir0pbqxf/ktig.jpg) (http://postimg.org/image/6ir0pbqxf/)
And here's another funny bug  ;D  ::)
A model of the `post-lamp` has a wrong scaling (suppose during import from 3d editor) and it effects a user tank. It stuck to the tank and drugged behind it or over it :D
Though, in the town there are no problems with `post-lamp`. I.e. mission "go bike go" there are many `post-lamps` and all of them works good.

I've already fixed it. It was my mistake. I wanted to add a light to the `post-lamp` at the night and imported dummies `s_light` from the tank. But it didn't work, moreover it brought a ridiculous bug :)

Untill now the US infantry was incomplete, coz a MGunner was absent. That's why I decided to add this soldier. Unfortunately, I'm out of 3d modeling skill and I had to add a german MG. Well, it's completely not realizm, but I think it's better then nothing. The next step I'm going to add a stationary MG. Perhaps, it'll be a soviet SG-43.

BTW LOckie great sounds mod that you have made with the expl/hits. What I have done is cull some of the sounds that were a bit off like some sounds of explosions  on the ground were too metallic .I have selected the best ones in my opinion and may be remove 30 or so am going to reclassify them as some of the light ones are louder than some of the medium expl/hits. I will send it to you to tell me what you thinkof the result and test it.

As well I am thinking of changing the ambient sound like the song birds for some real battlefield ones like distant exchanges of mg fire or explosions....That would give a more battlefield ambiance...

Title: Re: Screenshots

 Here's what I found on a website called Tanks Encyclopedia:

Allied versions and variants, like the M3A1E1. The M3A1E1 was fitted with a new local Buda-Lanova 78bhp diesel engine, which allowed some increase in operational range. With some minor modification, the total production of this version reached 3340 (3034?), which were all sent and modified in Russia, serving as reconnaissance cars and towing tractors for the ZIS-76mm field artillery. They soldiered well until 1947, and inspired later Soviet designs like the BTR40. - See more at: http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/US/M3_Scout_Car.php#sthash.NEEn59F8.dpuf

I don't see any reason to force erself to play with a new tiger model. There is always a choice: du u like it? If yes - then play, if not - then don't use it ;)
And of course, I'm not going to place a new model without a representative mission.

BTW
there is a difference, look at the picture.

I've read that the grenade launchers were removed from the turrets, as they would get hit (in-coming fire) and would explode and obscure vision. Mounting was moved to the hull/chassis. Don't remember if a field mod or factory update and or both.  Modeling the launchers getting hit and discharging and effecting A.I. would be great!

I like this new tiger too Txema , I would like to see unique models in the game  like the "Gruppe ferhrmann Tigers" ,it could be amazing,...... :: on the other hand I was wondering why the Tiger of the Seelow Heights mission (1945)  is not a late production model ::)

I was wondering why the Tiger of the Seelow Heights mission (1945)  is not a late production model ::)
There's easy explanation. On the moment when mission was made a tiger late model was absent ;)

That can be remedied easily. Just open the mission in the ME and change the H for E ( late)version.

Here's a link (http://www.4shared.com/rar/q4BfEzPD/test_NTA17_upd.html) to test a new tiger. Install it the last in line.
The name of the new unit is 1x Pz.VI Ausf.H1 "Tiger" grey 2LOD.

Lokiе, instead of the new model appears Tiger SS.

In common_units.engcfg, in the "groups" is a bad entry
bad type tank htann7 = tiger ss
replace : htann17 = tiger H1

wer_platoon_htann17c, 0.1, wer_htann7, 1, wer_platoon_inf, 1,,,,,,;

replace with:

/ / Tiger H1 group
wer_pz6h1, 990.1, weru_pz6h1, 1, wer_crew_pz6, 1,,,,,,;
wer_crew_pz6h1, 300.0, weru_tleuten, 1, weru_tankman, 1, weru_tankman_p, 3,,,,;

In addition I have a problem with the Tiger I( yellow model) gun sight. it won't follow the gun barrel from within the gunner's position. The gun moves up and down from the third person view but form the gunner's position it only move right to left and vice versa.The same problem that the Panzer III had at one point. I made changes from false to true etc and nothing works. Does anybody have the same problem????

It's funny, but I don't understand why it works at me side :)
One `grey tiger` must be in the editor.
And yes, it's my bad the other units of `grey tiger` misplaced.
here's how it should look like:
wer_pz6h1,990,1,weru_pz6h1,1,wer_crew_pz6,1,,,,,,;
wer_platoon_htann17a,0,1,wer_htann17,2,,,,,,,,;
wer_platoon_htann17b,0,1,wer_htann17,3,,,,,,,,;
wer_platoon_htann17c,0,1,wer_htann17,1,wer_platoon_inf,1,,,,,,;

wer_platoon_htann17b,txt_med_platoon_htann17b_wer,%SIDE_GERMAN%,txt_med_gr_htanks_wer,0,1,AAA,0x1f,tankh,tankh;

it works if I select 1 only but cannot select 2x or 3x or with inf.
That's it, my mistake.

Lokiе, instead of the new model appears Tiger SS.
At least one, must work :)
I'll soon re-upload `test_update`.

All hatches open/close, MG's works, tracks has appropriate config, center mass and speeds defined. Amazing work! I may say sincerely this work would take me approximately one month. 19will73 done it during a couple days. Incredible!

It was firstly implemented a long time ago - November Update 2012 ;)
May I suppose that u're working in Intelligence Service?  ;D
Just kidding  :D
The answer is simple - make skin a bit more darker with some strips. Of course, u may get back a yellow one or even make two tigers with a dif. skins. It's very easy.

BTW
How many units did u manage to place in the battle? At this moment I've ~100 and my PC has only 8 fps.

Title: Re: Screenshots
Post by: frinik on January 21, 2014, 06:14:27 AM
Odd because in my versions of NTA 1.6 and 1.7 the Tiger I still has the custard yellow camo.It's only in NTA 1.8 that it became darker????? Why not adopt the Whukid's late war camo for the late Tiger model rather than the default orange-green-yellow one???I know the existing (default) one is correct as I have seen photographs of a Tiger painted like that but in imo Whukid's late war camo is much nicer not to say sober....

Re the intelligence service; I admit my failings but I blame it on the Ukrainian "maskirovka" tactics used by some of this forum.... ;)

 Re the fps if I use small( early war) tanks such as the T26, Bts, T60 or 70, or the Panzer I, II, III, 38t and German apcs I can put 120 units on the map and get 18 to 25fps on my laptops( res 1600 X 900) , high quality in game , performance, Vsync and AA off on gpu..With larger mid or late war tanks JS, T34/85, SUs, Jagd panthers, panzers, tigers, Tigers or Panthers I can only go as high as 85 to have decent fps....No infantry no aircrafts....

On my desktop I can a little higher for both early and late war machines...
 I must admit that since NTA 1.6 and SPM 2.0 the framerate somewhat  has improved over Beta 1.5.

It was in fact an almost integral copy of the T-34 a proof that that tank had really shaken the Wehrmacht.Of course it would have been a Germa i.e improved version of the T-34 which good optics, better quality armour, better gun, radio and better ergonomics  but probably too heavy and overengineered; the usual German flaws....

KV-1 is still the best tank during the period 1941-42.

In some cases yeah, but against 88s, the Pak 40 and Pz IV F2s it's about as much use as a sluggish T-34, which would pretty much be the reasoning behind phasing it out and replacing it with The Greatest Tank of WW 2 (http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/images/smilies/is2.gif)

I love the Kv-1 and the KV-85 too. Yeah they had their flaws but still better tanks than the T34s which were just German tank fodder. They only gained notoriety because the Sov could produced 45 000 of them despite the heavy losses they suffered.
