Title: M36 (90 mm Gun Motor Carriage)
Post by: lockie on December 19, 2012, 03:02:16 PM
Perhaps, we'll see soon a new spg M-36(USA). This model, thanks to yl996102, already in the game, but needs to be adjusted. There are two gunsights made by 19will73.

Found mistake: fueltank wasn't cover by armor :)

Also interesting - how to use a MG on the turret?

Also interesting - how to use a MG on the turret?

it generally wasn't a recommended practice. the user had to completely exit the vehicle and stand either on the turret or the engine to use it, being completely exposed to enemy fire. The M26/46 also had this retarded design flaw, which was corrected in the M48 series MBT :)

Anyway, MG 12.7mm Browning M2HB installed and we need to use it somehow. So, I think loader will be responsible and I need a sound for this MG. I'd be pleased, if somebody share an appropriate sound. May be from SABOW?
The other problem is a second type of M-36B2. I still can't figure out what the frontal armor is? 100 mm? 64 mm?

Thank u very much :) But I wonder if there is any chance that u could supply me more detailed info, i.e. from S. J. Zaloga M10 and M36 Tank Destroyers
I'd be very much obliged.

According to the previous plan this variant will be released: M-36.

Another dangerous predator for the big Germans cats to contend with.... :o

However the crew is very exposed to mg fire and shrapnel shards from HE shells....

Finally, this `tiny-kittie`M36 works near perfect :)
It has two different guns:
- with gun-brake
- no gun-brake
Each gun has a special characteristics. SPG has a random choice: top hatchet. Loader can shoot from MG in position - out of the turret. At first, spg's had a different engines, but I decided to remove a weaker one. Let's leave it to the spg M10 ;)
I've managed to fix a very sever bug, because of it a game had a terrible slow-mo (2-3 fps) each time when tank M4A3 or spg M36 bumped into each other. Now it works fine.

As it appeared M36 works unstable :(
With a high probability there is smth wrong with a cockpit.
