Post by: wodin on September 16, 2016, 01:04:21 PM
I'm sure you all know this by now but for any newbies a tip. If defending do not deploy your soldier sin a town if it's an OBJ. As it will get blasted by Arty. deploy either in front or behind it.

Ya, certainly do not. The enemy AI likes to drop arty right on objectives and seems to look for high value defense squares close to middle of named important objectives.  Often is better to pick a less value spot that looks not as great on the set up spot.  And to defend something does not mean you HAVE to sit on top of it.

I've found that scouting out the enemy positions to be the most important thing to do.Send in a unit to reconnoiter the area you think has enemy in it before committing to an attack. When the enemy is spotted you can then try to out flank the position. One of the best things about the game is the suspense of trying to pinpoint just where the enemy is and in what strength.

I agree.

it's also nice when you guess right where to drop your Arty at the beginning of a game...seeing all those dimmed out circles...hurrah!
