Is there a list of available missions, as you might see at Mission4Today for IL2?

Could we start a sticky for it, rather than have newbies like me trawl for user-made missions made a while ago?

No there's no such list.Part of the problem is that lost of missions are made by various individuals with a particular mod or new model being introducedthere's no compiling of all the missions avaiable.Als not helping is that some of missions or mission packs are not compatible with vertian mods or only compatible with a given mod or new vehicle.Still Kyth's SF download webpage should give you a variety of missions available.

Heh heh  Grin much as I'd like to take credit, it is actually Godzilla's download page at Mediafire:

Ah yes, I have seen that list, and Godzilla's installation guide on that forum is the most helpful I have seen.

BUT!

Firstly, the greatest SFK42 discussion is here, on Graviteam's own forum. Over the last two months, I've seen little English-speaking traffic on simhq and none anywhere else. If there is good advice to be had on SFK42, it should be here.

Secondly, again it flows like a random stream of consciousness  Grin

Why not start a thread with a structure controlled by the mods, reflecting the helpfulness of Mission4Today:

for example, every mission/campaign added would have its own post something like this -

Mission/Campaign Name: "Tigers In The Mud Ver.2"

Date Added: xx/xx/xx

Missions: Single Mission

Player's Vehicle: German Tiger MkI

Map: Izum (game stock)

Historical or Ficticious: Historical - In February 1944 Otto Carius and his platoon of Tigers were called upon to prevent the Russian forces of the Leningrad Front from crossing the Narva River 5km north of Narva, and by-passing the fortified Narva Bridgehead.

Mods Required: SPM 1.5 Beta, Rends Newbuildingsv3, Pink Paintbomb mod

JSGME Ready: Yes

Download Location: www.(link).com

File Size: 54Mb

Notes: This mission was updated on xx/xx/xx to include the Pink Paintbomb mod.

This format would make it easy for people to see what they were getting, how old it is, and so on.

What do you think?

Of course since Yiddish or Jiddisch is essentially Middle German mixed with Hebrew and a smattering of Slavic and other languages. When written or transcribed in Latin alphabet if you read German you can pretty much read and figure out 60 to 70 % of Yiddish except for some words.

The best idea would be to create a subforum: user missions, but I don't know how to do that.

BRING BACK MARKERS

« Reply #17 on: March 07, 2012, 05:55:57 PM »

Is there a "how to" about installing these missions?  Or is there an installer that does it?

Thanks to the mission designers.

Edit:  I see I have to modify a line in a config file.  When I open that file with MS Word, the line formatting is  a little off.  It's like it's word wrapped or indented so that the lines of text push over into the next line.  Is that config file just opened with a standard text editor?
