I've included Russian infantry sounds in both versions. Didn't include German in the Eng. version because there could be the phrases that don't fit in the situations. The absolute majority of the russian players aren't so picky.

Would you consider releasing it as an addon anyway?
It gets somewhat annoying to hear the Germans repeatedly shout about nothing other than FEUER FREI for the entire mission, especially when the Russian ones are such an improvement. Smiley

Personally I would do away with the infantry voices as they only keep screaming the wrong things at the wrong time or cliches......

Well, I observed some pretty nice and fitting combat chatter on that SU-152 mission after I was knocked out and spectated a ZiS-3 crew and surrounding infantry. Iirc, they mostly barked orders about conserving ammo (watch every shot), approaching tanks and generic stuff like Davay granatu and take cover. Smiley

I admit that perhaps it is due to the fact that I don't understand german or russian, but for me the infantry voices add a lot of atmosphere to the sim !!

And I would like to have more variety of them.  Smiley

Yeah somehow the Russian chatter has improved somewhat with the ultimate release but I hate the " We are under fire" or " I am hit "screaming into my ears every 3 minutes even after the action has ended. The only immersion it brings is the irresistible urge to stick my head into a basin full of water not to hear them!!!

Do you mean the voice comms that your tank crew periodically emits after you first enter combat frinik? I find those really annoying as well, but I guess a really easy fix would be to replace the respective voice lines with blank audio files; just a matter of locating them, I assume?

But it doesn't remove many of the old phrases, it just adds some.

You can remove that by removing according lines in snd_list_ger.engcfg and snd_list_ger.engcfg. Or I can upload edited versions here.
Personally I've removed move commands, distance information (only directions left) and hit screams.

I still find the JS-2 too fragile. Is it because the armour frail value is set so high at 0.6?Huh?

Maybe because you're using your own AP values for the shells?  Wink
According to the latest UU patch AP value for 75mm/L43 should be 0.87;AP value for 75mm/L70 should be 0.89;AP value for 88mm/L56 should be 0.91;AP value for 88mm/L71 should be 0.93.

Thanks Mistwalker. I'll see if I can track down the particularly annoying ones and replace them with something not as hair-tearingly vexing :x

Thanks for the tip Mistwalker! I will rmeove some of the German voices.Just the commands will do...I will try the Russian voices you are proposing.

Re shell values; I haven't touched the value of the Kwk40/L43 but the 0.87 I find a little too much imo.I can kill JS-2s at 1250 metres. It should be set lower probably close to the value of the 85 mm of T34/85 at 0.81.The kwk42 I have set at 0.92, the Kwk36 likewise at 0.92 and the kwk43 the original value when the Tiger 1.0 mod came out was 0.97 which is what I have left it at.The JS-2 I have at 1.10 otherwise with the default value of 0.97 it takes me sometimes 3 shots to kill a Panzer IVH?Huh

This is possible. Depends on where the hit lands and the angle between the shell and armor.
It also can be like this:

More than 10 hits by 88 mm shells from multiple directions and only the driver is killed. The tank destroyed 3 Tigers, including player.  Grin

and the kwk43 the original value when the Tiger 1.0 mod came out was 0.97 which is what I have left it at.

This is a little too much as the recent tests revealed.

Then maybe you didn't shoot well at  Panzer IVH? Smiley
Here's tiger 2 turret front, penetrated from 900 m and Panther front hull, penetrated from 1100 m. Value is 0.97.

Just curious, how "light" is a tank in game regarding physics?
Just started a Stug III mission and right at the start another Stug turned towards me, rammed me and keep pushing his Stug under my Stug till mine tuned over and ended up like a turtle in the sun.

The tanks are way too light in the game. The real mass is not reflected which is why a Tiger I will swing on a tree branch or an APC will remain stuck in a tree or a JS-2 will swing if sitting on top on some barbwire. The Hetzer was so light every time you braked after driving at high speed it would buck or flip over.... Grin

It's more like not the tanks too light, but the tree branch is made of steel and physics calculation for the elements is not continuous (performance issues).

Well I was aware of the "excellent" terrain making it hard for vehicles but I thought tank against tank wouldn't work this way, makes you wonder if it would be better to just ram the enemy instead of trying to shoot at him.

the thing with the Ai is not to place them too close to one another if you make your own missions for example.Otherwise they will start crawling on top of one another like bugs do....They also also have the endency to m bump into you as you are shooting at an enemy tank making you miss your shot or push you when you are trying to look for a defensive position. More than once of my wingmen had the misfortune of zipping through in front of my tank as I was firing at some target and ended up being the targeta s i had not time to stop shooting.... Grin
