Game version

HI i have just purchased apos online. I am not sure if i have the latest version or if i need to update it ??.  My version says 5.75/1379 .   Also i noticed an optional poligon update , what is this ??

Looks like you do need the core to go from 5.75 to 5.77, if I have the "core" terminology correct.

You've got to do all three of those above that dane49 posted in the right order and in the correct way:  The 5.77 extracted to the game directory, then the polygon and Feb. update via the update manager in the APOS game menu, if I remember correctly.

Although it may be too late for tanker21, but Matrix games is selling an updated version.  Quoting from the Matrix forums:

"Our release has all the existing updates included, which saves you over a gigabyte of extra downloads and a rather complex updating process. Future Graviteam updates will work fine with our release, but we also plan to put then in an easier installer for our customers."

APOS has BY FAR the worst patching system of any game I have ever played since the MSDOS era.

                                                                                                                                                                                                       This is the order I used,from top to bottom.You will need to update to v577 engine 1st,then district and then 07c patch.Make sure if using windows 7 that you update game as Admin.Took me a week to figure that out

Does not work   . I have folowed the instructions, i get to stage 13 fine then nothing hapens . I wait 5 mins but nothing


I bought the game from storm power  If that has anything to do with it ??

Actually  i did not get to figure 13 i got to 10 as the game updater did not open on its own. I had to start the game and manually open the updater . still nothing happened ??

Did you check and see with the engne update was applied....v577? 

Hmmm running windows 7?  Try and move install game folder out of prorams to directly under C or whatever drive.  Although installing these patches should work if your running as Admin..........it does not always seem to work.  Well it did not for me, thats for sure.  YAY microsoft!  Trying to be smarter than me and my computer! yay!

I dont understand why it is not working . I am using win7 64 and everything is done under admin rights. I download core (577) update into a temp folder and then extract the patch into the temp folder . Then i install the core update into the game ,everything goes just as it should do and as the guide explains .   
 
   But that is were it stops working . the game updater does not activate and if i start the game and then open the updater and  follow the instructions nothing happens . 

     I am wondering if the storm power software is stopping it working becouse every time i start the game i have to go through there load page , a bit like starting a game from my steam library .If i clik on the achtung panzer desktop shortcut,rather than starting the game it opens my stormpower librarry and i have to start the game again in that .

   Also i would like to add that the game version at all times stays at 5.75/1379.

Win7 blocks free installer that we use to install the core update into Program Files folder. It is not our program, we can not change this issue. Install game simply in another folder for example C:\game.

Uninstalled everything , then reinstalled the game then the patches,i put  Nothing in program files .   But still canot update the core . Now it says it has finished  and opens the update window but when i select "decs.addpack"  nothing happens .  i have left it 10 minutes still nothing    ..  Funny thing is my cpu core 1   is at 100% so something is happening ??   


Game still says 5.75 ??

Don't extract the 5.77 core update to a temp folder.  Extract it to the exact location of APOS.  The whole "temporary folder" thing doesn't work for me either.

Hmmm...What I mean is of course to download the core update to a temp folder, but when you run it, have it extract to the actual game location.  If you don't do this then the updater won't work right (you won't see that little stopwatch icon and the version will stay 5.75.)

I don't have APOS on the computer I'm using now, but if I remember right, that solved my problem.

Yeh that was my first mistake but i have not done that this time . As you can see in the capture above i moved the downloaded core update to a new folder ,then extrackted the patch to the same folder . All under admin rights. then i extracted game update engine _v577  to

   " Storm Eagle Studios/Stratergy First/Actung panzer Operation Star"

 Something happened becouse  it said it had finished then the updater opened but could uptate nothing . And the game still say Version 5.75 at the top.


 All i can think is  storm power  is messing about for some reason..
