Hello All,
Just popping in to say Hello.  I'm new to the AP series and have bought OP Star.  I've fiddled a bit with it and now that I'm comfortable with the UI, I've had some partial success in the 1st scenario, trying to get my cut off Company back to Friendly lines.  NIGHT!!  For a noob, it certainly made the scenario challenging.  Not only because of the darkness, but who the heck isn't tired at 0300hrs!!!(reference to my troops fatigue)  I made it and the match ended in a draw vs Russians.  8 KIA, mostly from Artillery.
Now, off to help those poor surrounded bastards in the village.  F!  Tanks!! and only 1 AT Rifle.  Wish me luck.

Welcome!  Stay deep in the woods and hold fire.  If the tanks come in after you, your Molotovs can be quite effective.

So where are these molotovs you speak of?  Also in the platoon wpns info, it says I have assorted mines.  The defence was a disaster, although my Inf took out most of the supporting Russian inf, they did nothing but get shot by the tanks.  Am I missing something?  I gave attack orders once the valentine's were caught up in the village buildings, but the troops just kind of ran around and waited to be shot.

It's the Soviets who have the Molotovs Smiley

I don't give attack orders - just leave the infantry in defence posture.  Once the tanks come close, my infantry throw grenades and Molotovs automatically and I regularly see 2-3 APC kills when I'm defending.

Practice on the QB screen and try different ideas until you get it.  Lock on to a defending infantry unit (Q) and monitor their behaviour.

OK, Ill give the QB a try.  I was in a defensive posture and was taking lots of casualties so I selected the attack order.

If you post some screen shots showing how you setup your units and what happens next, we can make suggestions for ways to get better results.
