How do you feel about using the graduated drum roll to adjust the reticle in spgs such as the Elefant, the Stugs etc???

Pwrsonally I find it very cumbersome to sue when you are playing as the gunner.I would much prefer being able to adjust the reticle using the computer + and - keys wihtout having to use that device. What do you think???

Well, as my point this "drum" gunsight is absolutely useless, thing. The game wasn't designed for such gunsight and it always confusing even players who has experience. U've to adjust a distance by the knobs of hatch(H/J)!? Ridiculous, imho. I'd like to make suggestion to put it out and replace with a half real gunsight same as on the Jagdtiger, Stug III G.

I for one really like the drum adjustment. For the first time I was really paying attention to the ranges called out. Dialing it in, then getting a perfect hit was great feeling, imho.

What is this drumroll nonsense? I have no idea what anyone is talking about here. Does anyone have a link to it?

Personally since I play the gunner I muhc prefer using the keyboard to adjust the reticle when aiming.i fwe could play MP or co-op having another player adjust the drumroll would be ok but in SP I find it cumbersome.Would it be possible to have both options; i.e the keyboard (using the + and _ keys) as before and the drumroll for those who like it?

Nope, but I think it's possible to release a separate patch with a new gunsights, which will work on the mouse base. Or on the contrary make a patch where aiming will be with keys of hatch "H/J". I think it's even better. Call this patch as "Realism aiming", where player will adjust distance with "H/J" and at the same time use these keys for the hatch "open/close" Cheesy  Tongue  Grin

BRING BACK MARKERS

I've never seen that thing, let alone used it.  Is it only on Stugs and SPGs?

So you have to switch to and inside cockpit view in order to set the range?  Or can you do it in the sight view with key board clicks?

Before you didn't have to switch back and forth now you have to...

I found it okay with the Elefant, but almost unusable with the StuG D - never could set it right with those.

BRING BACK MARKERS

Seems cumbersome.  IRL it would take 1/8 of a second to look away from the sight with a simple head movement and twirl the barrel.  This would best be simulated by the way it was previously.  Simply make it adjustable with keys while looking through the sight.

That's overstating I'd say. You have to look at the barrel until you adjust it right. So 1-2 seconds minimal.

You can do it with the barrel sight too.

I maybe over stating it but I think it's reasonable to say that it would be easier, less cumbersome, and more straight forward in real life than in the game to adjust it.

Not according to frinik in his post above.  You have to keep switching views back and forth.

I've managed to fix it, here:
