Hi chaps,

I've been experimenting with using SweetFX with Steel Fury which might be of interest. Below a very rough trial settings screenshot and some settings:

Kind regards

Interesting but is this a free program? It really changes the colours makes them darker. It looks like it could make the fps take a dive as well???

Hi mate,

It is a free program, you can changve vaious things, such as anti-aliasing, HDR, Bloom, vibrance etc. and save a profile for each game. I've been using it for several games for a while but thought I'd try it with SF. The settings shown here cost me 1 FPS. This is only a test setup, I will tweek the settings more to suite my tastes when I have more time.

I like it Aces  Smiley Its a much sharper natural look I think, stock SFK42 colors always reminded me of a hazy hot and humid summer. Well I know what I'll be doing tomorrow  Cheesy

Hi mate,

I'm still experimenting with settings (there are a lot you can "tweak") Smiley.

No problem, I'll send you details by PM later.

Cheers

Hi chaps,

I thought I'd post my setup here:

First thing to do is to copy the text below and save it as a normal .txt file in the "presets" folder of SweetFX with a name like "SweetFX_Settings_Steel_Fury.txt"

   /*-----------------------------------------------------------.
  /                      Choose effects                         /
  '-----------------------------------------------------------*/

// Set to 1 for ON or 0 for OFF
#define USE_SMAA_ANTIALIASING  1            // [0 or 1] SMAA Anti-aliasing : Smoothens jagged lines.
#define USE_LUMASHARPEN        1            // [0 or 1] LumaSharpen : Also sharpens the antialiased edges which makes them less smooth - I'm working on fixing that.
#define USE_BLOOM              0            // [0 or 1] Bloom : Makes bright lights bleed their light into their surroundings (relatively high performance cost)
#define USE_HDR                1            // [0 or 1] HDR : Not actual HDR - It just tries to mimic an HDR look (relatively high performance cost)
#define USE_TECHNICOLOR        0            // [0 or 1] TECHNICOLOR : Attempts to mimic the look of an old movie using the Technicolor three-strip color process (Techicolor Process 4)
#define USE_DPX                0            // [0 or 1] Cineon DPX : Should make the image look like it's been converted to DXP Cineon - basically it's another movie-like look similar to technicolor.
#define USE_LIFTGAMMAGAIN      0            // [0 or 1] Lift Gamma Gain : Adjust brightness and color of shadows, midtones and highlights (avoids clipping)
#define USE_TONEMAP            1            // [0 or 1] Tonemap : Adjust gamma, exposure, saturation, bleach and defog. (may cause clipping)
#define USE_VIBRANCE           1            // [0 or 1] Vibrance : Intelligently saturates (or desaturates if you use negative values) the pixels depending on their original saturation.
#define USE_CURVES             0            // [0 or 1] Curves : Contrast adjustments using S-curves.
#define USE_SEPIA              0            // [0 or 1] Sepia : Sepia tones the image.
#define USE_VIGNETTE           0            // [0 or 1] Vignette : Darkens the edges of the image to make it look more like it was shot with a camera lens. May cause banding artifacts.
#define USE_DITHER             0            // [0 or 1] Dither : Applies dithering to simulate more colors than your monitor can display. This lessens banding artifacts (mostly caused by Vignette)
#define USE_SPLITSCREEN        0            // [0 or 1] Splitscreen : Enables the before-and-after splitscreen comparison mode.

This preset can also be used as a starting point for any other profiles for other games by loading it in and saving it with a different name.

Here' the main screen, you can change setting from here:

The trick with Steel Fury as opposed to my other games listed on the left, is to use the "Split FX install" option which places the injector file in the .../bin/rel folder and not the main game folder. Click on "Game Settings" to access this screen:

The Split install folder is the bin\rel subfolder under your main game folder although note use "starter.exe" and not "shell.exe" when you choose the game excutable when adding a new game in the main screen.

Okay, with this you should be good to go.

To save and load profiles, use the "Save/load configuration" setting on the main screen.

Hope this helps,

Cheers
