Hi,
I recently purchased Achtung Panzer Operation Star. However, I'm trying to put it on my laptop. Unpatched it works fine. But once I put on the patch files, it is stating that my Windows 8 laptop can't run the program due to a missing d3d9_43.dll file.
Is there a fix for this? My laptop is:
Toshiba
i3 2.5ghz dual core
4gb Ram
Intel 4000 hd gfx
Windows 8
Thanx for any help you can provide.

Try going into into docs/supports/redists and running and vcredist crap from microsoft. The patches should have deposited them in the game directory. With win 8........... who knows but try that one.

Thanx for the help. I tried it with no success.
I made sure to install Achtung Panzer to the c:\ directory as well. I wonder why it works before patching, but not after.

The fact that it DID run before patching, well are you sure you have right patches and all that. If it ran before patching it certainly should run after.... Pretty sure I had this message before. Was something easy but damned if I remember.  |

Simply install DirectX at june 2010 |

I installed the direct x that came with the game. I don't know what version that was.
Also they're the correct patches because it works on my desktop just fine
Thank you both for your help. I'll see if I can find direct x June 2010.

Hm. May be for Win8 and laptop need to be specific version. But in any case this DLL is part of DX. |

May be for Win8+laptop need to be specific dirvers and/or DX. What is laptop specs/model? |

It is a Toshiba. I'd recently updated the video card drivers to run another program. It worked fine after that.

I meant it worked fine for the other game. But now with the new Graviteam Tactics....no luck.

Tried the Web Install DX.
That worked. At least now it loads into the main menu and into a campaign mission. I've not done anything else to this point. But I think we may have it rolling now.
