Yeah, I forgot to exclude this new honey-boney from the `test_update` Smiley APC needs to be heavily adjusted, especially a cockpit/places and there should be another member of crew.

U mean, u tried to put a new apc in the mission and got CTD? If so, then don't worry, vehicle is still under adjustment and I don't know when it'll be ready.

And now we're starting to accommodate a missions by deviators with a common name "Turen" compilation.
LET'S HAVE IT!

My kindly thanks to Txema for his help with texting and quotations.

Hem"  800 settlements were " liberated" all in Lithuanian and East Prussia????That' a very interesting view of history but I personally doubt that either East Prussians nor Lithuanian viewed Soviet occupation as liberation. One could argue as well then that the Ukraine was liberated from Soviet yoke in 1941. Wink

Uh it' not a matter of whose we are playing it's matter of veracity or truth if you prefer. East Prussia was part of Germany. It was never part of the Soviet Union. It was not liberated it was occupied by the Soviets who promptly deported the inhabitants who hadn't be evacuated and who had survived the last month of the war and the exactions of the Red Army. Anyway I am not suggesting to review the text just suggesting in the future to avoid rewriting history and sticking to the truth! Wink

Anyway I lived in Poland and travelled often to the Baltic states. Just ask them what they think of their "liberation" by the Soviet Union. Grin

Understood, we're all history buffs, I like your information you post here (these forums). I learned the word SOLIDARITY from Poland during news broadcast in the 80's (teenager).

Of course I do agree with Frinik: those areas were occupied by the Soviets with terrible consequences for a lot of people. It is also true that the brutal Nazi regime was removed from there.

In any case, I just made a literal translation of the original text for the mission that was in Russian.

I also think that those texts are there to create atmosphere for the missions, and in that sense I think that while playing one side it is OK to use its terminology and point of view to increase the inmersion factor for the player...

And replaced by the human/peace-loving, generous and benevolent Soviet Marxist-Stalinist regime....Number one on the Hit Parade of the 20th Century in three categories: the highest number of human beings murdered by the State ,the  largest number of people forcibly deported and the highest number of people enslaved in labour camps. Yeah! What a relief it must have been for the people being "liberated"! Grin

Ok I thought we were differentiating between general background texts which describe the current military situation at the time the mission takes place and should remain factual and the mission text proper which of course includes the propaganda or terminology used by weither side the "Fascists Hitlerites" versus the " Bolschevik Asiatic Hordes".... Wink

and point of view to increase the inmersion factor for the player...

Personally it only increases by blood pressure when I see history re-written.... Wink

I may confess that Txema translated original text. I'm pretty sure that author deviator just picked up first suitable text and put it in the game. Of course, I may change it to avoid misunderstanding. (To say the truth, it doesn't make me bother too much Smiley)

No I am not suggesting we change it.I just wanted to make a point about perceptions that's all.... Grin

Ok let's draft the mission text: the glorious and peace-loving Red Army, defensor of the oppressed workers and peasants, liberated the enslaved masses of proletarians kept in bondage by the vile Hitlerites and their masters; the imperialist bourgeoisie of Wall Street and their lackeys the British and French colonalists. Spontaneously, the liberated masses took the streets showering their handsome, uniformed proletarian heroes with petal roses, bread and salt all the time vituperating the Fascists-Capitalists who had deprived them of their rightful place under the bright sun of the Socialist Paradise led by benevolent and kind-hearted Comrade Stalin, the Father of All the People. Our T34s, full of love for our Socialist Motherland and full of hatred for the Hitlerite Militarists, will belch copious amounts of black exhaust smoke to foul for ever the lair of the fascist Beast! Comrades Forward.Let's liberate! Wink

BTW
We've a choice to supply any mission with historic/fiction text (and even with additional backimage). So, if somebody has smth. more suitable than already prepared - don't hesitate and put it on this topic to discus. The campaign `Turen` has 4 missions (two for german and two for soviet).
