Here's a new german apc 251/9 equipped with a short-barrel (75mm KwK37 L/24) gun, which was made by Maleshkin. As we can see a model also has a detailed cockpit(!) and ... TA-DAM - a drum for the gunsight! So, player has ability to have a look around and using a specially designed for this apc a drum-gunsight - shoot a bit of bricks from the gun Smiley
But there're a couple problems:
1. Model has ~47000 triangles and only one LOD, which is completely not good for the game engine.
2. imho, a texture too bright, kinda a `desert design`.

First conclusion:
- great model, but only with 1 LOD. So, I'm hesitating, should it be in the next NTA1.7beta mod?
Of course, more details after the model will be checked in the field/battle conditions.

There are already so many models with one LOD that one more is not going to make a big difference. Why deprive ourselves of a new model?Huh? Smiley

47000 triangles that's asking a lot Smiley
I know that it's possible to create at least 2LOD's. And the main reason don't include it immediately - we're not in hurry Wink

A couple screens.

Unfortunately, due to some a very sad reasons an original model was lost Sad
At this moment we've a very early alpha model, which is far away from the finished one.

So, if Maleshkin will decide to finish his model and add a second LOD, then we'll have a chance to see this model in the game. In other case, we should wait or make  smth. better or equal Wink

Oh-h, well yes, of course it's possible. I mean, at this moment we've only what we've now. And everything (almost) depends on Maleshking and his gifted nature.

Ah, well, here's  hoping then.

Nice to be back, my machine had a virus several months back, and there are still a few things I haven't got back to their previous condiditon, like steel fury. I"ve got it installed, but I'll need to do the mods from scratch again, and unfortunatly my new G940 joystick doesn't seem to want to be mapped as a controller for the game, so that will need to be worked out. Great to see all the new additions though.

unfortunately my new G940 joystick doesn't seem to want to be mapped as a controller for the game

I know Cry  wanted to map the brakes of the rudder pedals (Logitech software: L,R arrows) to transverse the turret for playing the likes of the Panther. *SF had no problems seeing the "joystick" for movement, firing and turret movement. I don't use it though for SF, keyboard & trackball here.
*for a trouble shooting data point; I have the Logitech software profiler running with no SF profile and it worked.

It looks kinda spare bays for zip, ammunition(?), or other useful things Smiley
Meanwhile I found these great pictures.

As it appeared, the Kanonenwagen came into existence due to the need for additional infantry close support and with the `Pz. IV F1` switched to the long barrel, this left many of the short L/24 guns available.

Finally, I've managed to add a second LOD to apc 259. Now first LOD has ~ 33000 triangles and second LOD 14000, which is quite suitable.
From the very beginning a model had ~48000 triangles. So, we can see an improvement has place. Now, model went to the industry of our great scientist 19will73 and hope the unit soon will be ready to use Wink

PS
Another version APC from Maleshkin with MG and new camo  8)

APC sdkfz 251/9 is ready!
Thanks to Maleshkin(model), 19will73 (adjusting) and myself for the second LOD creating/first LOD optimizing Wink
Some features:
1. Added commander with new animation
2. added new tracks(56 pcs) and traces
3. added `drum-gunsight` or standart gunsight depends on user choice (default `drum-gunsight`).
Shells НЕ & НС adjusted upto 1700m, AP shell to 1300m
4. Adjusted armor map
5. Adjusted shells (fuse, weight charge)
- 75мм 7.5сmSpgr KwK Gr34 420m\ (HE) Spgr Gr34 5.74кг (680gr)  kl.AZ23
- 75мм К Gr rot Pz (AP) 385m К.Gr.Pz. 6.8кг (80gr)fuse Bd.Z.f7,5Pzgr (immediately) trasser 3-4sec
- 75мм 38 HL1/A(K) 450m\s(cumulative)  38 HL1/A 4.4kg (400gr) fuse AZ38 (immediately) trasse 3-4sec
6. Added new signs, insignia
7. removed signs from the texture APC and carve out a slit in the cockpit for observation

As we can see the model adjusting took ~2 months. The model itself was made in the spring 2013.

APC will be included into November_update_2013.

Wow, Lockie, it looks really good !!!

 Smiley

I am also very happy to see that you are including the possibility of using the `drum-gunsight`. I like to have them when they were used historically... Thank you very much !!!
