Well guys I am feveresihly expecting Graviteam´s new WWII sim based on the Battle of Kharkov(the 3rd and last one in August 1943) which should arrive in late 2011. Because it will feature improved graphics, AI( based on their very successful Achtung Panzer RTS game engine ) and certainly the same features that make SF so enjoyable(friendly ME good ballistics etc) but with bigger rmaps.

I think it will give us an enriched SF.Plus all thew SF modders will be around and will probably mod the game intensively so we can expect lots of exciting stuff.

I'm sort of confused with Graviteam releases. They keep releasing material on Kharkov, but it's at different play levels. SFK42 is a "first-person" tank crew sim (right up my alley!). Then, they release '43, but it's a company-command, real-time strategy title (not interested). Are you sure this newer version is an update of SFK42, and not a revisit of the RTS title?

If it is, that'd be great news. If only for larger maps (the current restriction of which I find to be crippling for developing historical scenarios). Hopefully, they'll clarify the tools some and perhaps give the modding community some more face time and leadership. If they play their cards right, this could be a very good and long-lived sim franchise.

The next tank simulator due after Steel Armor Blaze of War will be like SFK42 but much improved, probably using many of the improvements developed from the APK43, APK43:Operation Star and Steel Armor Blaze of War projects. This would probably incoporate better AI, DM, bigger maps and tons of other stuff. The follow up to APK43 is APK43: Operation Star (RU title) and should be out now in the RU market. Check out this Q&A I had the pleasure of doing with Vlad for SimHq. It mostly deals with Steel Armor Blaze of War and APK43:Operation Star, but there are a few questions dealing with the follow on to SFK42. From this and some personal conversations I have had with Vlad more tank simulators are planned, both WW2 and modern as well as more games like APK43 & APK43:Operation Star.

Vlad and Graviteam are very dedicated and passionate to this genre and I fully believe they will be to this genre what Oleg Maddox is to the combat flight sim genre, very good news for us treadheads indeed  Smiley

Stig to reassure you the next WWII sim from Graviteam will definitely be a tank simulator like Steel Fury but based on the Battle of Kahrkov of August 1943 and using the improved game engine of Achtung Panzer and Operation Star. Thus the best of both worlds.

I followed the tutorial and got it running, but the object editor isn't showing in the list. I'm using win 7 x64 ultimate and have my game installed in Games folder and not program files x86. other than that I have no clue as to why it isn't working, am I doomed?  Cry

1. Check your \Steel Fury - Kharkov 1942\root\programs folder, and see if you have the 'arceditor' and 'objeditor' programs? If so, then move on to step 2.

2. Copy and paste the text below into Notepad and save it as a batch file, for example, "Object.bat".
Important - do not use the 'save as txt file' option. Save it to the game's main folder.

"bin\rel\shell.exe" root\programs\objeditor.program

3. Make a desktop shortcut to the "Object.bat" batch file and use it to start the Object editor.

Glad you got it working!

(Most fellows here would need 3 or 4 tries to puzzle it out)
