April, 1945. A battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Wardaddy and his men face odds in their attempts to strike at Nazi Germany...

Surely they' ve got to be kidding us????BY April 1945 everybody was behind German lines..... Facing odds when the enemy is on the ropes and being overrun.....with Brad the Pits Huh???Why do I smell another bomb( and I don't mean an atomic one  Grin

Lolol. Cheesy  I liked Telly Savalas better in his role as a tanker.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one:

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0By7I2IIHlQQjeDIyRTBsRndjVFk/edit?pli=1

It's a bit weird in various ways but the performances are powerful, the story compelling, and the tanks, impressive.

The Misfit Brigade, It's been several years since I've seen it, a funny film (humorous), remember interior action shots of SU crew sighting and loading stuff kinda surprised me at the time.

They liked using those patton tanks as German tanks, I think they were all pattons in guns of navarone.

The mock up tanks in Saving Ryan were pretty good.

They were made using modified Croatian T-54s I thinks..... The Soviets made some Tiger clones in some of their war films using their own T-34s but they were not very well made imo....

To me the worst is the Germans using a T34/85 in their film about Stalingrad....Of all people they should have been the ones concerned about historical accuracy. I realize surviving T34/76 or the 1943 models are rare but still...

PS Are 'home movies' and 'captured French Armoured Cars' off topic?

Yes that was a different movie.  I enjoyed it, even with the weird parts.  Who do you think Hitler was talking to in the last scene?

Hi,

You can buy it here:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/1944-Final-Defence-Rauno-Ahonen/dp/B00GJQ4SS4/ref=sr_1_2?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1400000840&sr=1-2&keywords=Tali-Ihantala+1944

It has a different title but it is exactly the same film.

A really good film !!

Thanks for posting that link(White Tiger), it's one of the better films I've seen yet dealing with the subject.

The premise is rather surreal, with an underlying message (although a rather obscure one - I wonder how the long rant near the end fits in?).
Somewhat like an episode of 'The Twilight Zone'.

Movie "War Horse". Here's replica of a British Mk IV tank.

"Tiger I" from "Saving Private Ryan".

Those Hollywood T-34"Tigers" have been around a long time, whoever built them put a
serious amount of effort into making them look like Tiger I's. The first film that I remember
seeing them in was Kelley's Heroes. Does anyone know the story on these "Tigers"?

There was another film from about that same era that had some "homebuilt Tigers" in it.
The Battle Of Neretva, Hardy Kruger starred in it.

The Battle Of Neretva - Tank Scenes:

The "German" T-34's were captured units of course Grin
