AI Armour

Hi, I'm Loving the game, best squad game out there, but I've noticed a problem with AI armour.

A couple of times while defending with infantry in cover V AI Armour + infantry, the AI just rushes its tanks straight ahead, leaving its supporting troops behind and engages my troops by driving around them firing at point blank range, making it easy for my troops to close assualt the them.
Is this just a limitation of the AI, or do the tanks not see the infantry until its too late.
