Subject says it all  Grin Thanks to Xambrium at SimHq for reporting this. The SPM 1.5 Beta will change your GUI to Russian, but Xambrium reports activating your Unofficial patch 0.1 (eng) last in JSGME will change the GUI back to english.

Special thanks to all the SPM team, without you guys SFK42 would be a very different game  Wink

Thanks for the announcement, especially the info on (re)anglicizing the interface.

There's still a lot of cyrillic in there, though, in briefings for (new) missions.

But, I suppose I'll have to try and get my head back into this sim, it had so much promise....

Hi Stig,
Yes unfortunately the unofficial patch won't translate the mission briefs, but SFK42 is pretty straight forward and the in game prompts do help you figure out what your suppose to be doing. My role of thumb is kill every enemy you come across  Grin
I think once this mod moves from beta to finalized version the full english version will be out shortly afterwards.

One thing to try (this was reported by Xambrium) is to start a new career as some of the missions you might have already played under SPM 1.4 have been tweeked in SPM 1.5 Beta. So even though it's basically the same mission you played under SPM 1.4 there are some nice new effects added, I have tried it and it is worth the revisit  Smiley

I suppose I'm "lucky" in that regard, as I haven't really gotten into the sim yet, so it would all be new to me.

I'll need to do the training missions again.

Is there a way we can get into the scenario files with an eye towards translating from the Cyrillic?

If you're looking at a briefing in-game, there's no way to drag-n-select it. Are there any text files we can perhaps open to get to it?

I found this, but upon opening, I see a lot of "gibberish" characters that I'm not even sure I can get to display in cyrillic, let alone then translate to English. Perhaps I need some sort of Cyrillic font in my system so that WordPad can display the characters, or...?

Anyone have any experience with this?

Okay found this newer link by Txema at SimHq Graviteams forums, apparently the other file was pulled as this one is updated http://rapidshare.com/files/421490972/SPM_V1.5_beta_English-patch_ver2.rar

Stig, D/L this file and extract into your MODS folder, activate it in JSGME after SPM 1.5 Beta. Your mission briefs will now be in English. While the English is not totally perfect it is very understandable and easy to follow. A special thanks to Txema for his time and effort in doing this for us  Smiley

First off, thanks! This sounds like the solution to the problem!!

Unfortunately, when I visited that link:

Error while freedownload
Unassigned file limit of 10 downloads reached.

Don't even know what the hell they're talking about... wtf is an unassigned file?Huh?
But the net is, I can't get to that file. Looks like it's only 127kb, though. Any chance you can send it to me via email? I'll PM you...

Many, many thanks... now I feel like I'm back at square one with this sim, but with lots more options to explore the campaigns and missions included!

Having trouble finding 1.5 mod. All links lead to one place and I get a 502 bad gateway error when I try and download.

Any suggestions

Was that tank ever fielded? I remember seeing a pic of the real thing which is in a Russian museum.

I thin they should focus on armour thatt saw action in greater numbers and had more impact on the war either the T 70, SU 100, KV85 or Panzer IV G, H or the Jagdpanzer IV, Stug IV  but just my opinion....

I think it s only for the ME.

I agree, the T-70 and SU-76 (especially the T-70) seem to be perpetually "almost there",

anxiously awaiting these AFV's of tremendous significance.  Smiley
