The new models mean that now you need specs like a processor with at least 2.5 gigahertz a graphic card with 512 mb to 1 gb of DDR3 and preferably DDR5 and 128 bits in memory bus to get constant and decent framerates.
It won't help. To get good fps(~30) vs new models, u need processor with 4.0 gigahertz.

Lockie I have got an intel i7 2.80ghz and my fps vary ( playing the stock game 's missions and Kyth's and yours) from 25 to 60 plus. The processor does matter but the RAM( I have 8 gbs) and graphic cards also play an important role.

With an AMD 2.0 ghz processor on my Toshiba laptop I can play SF missions with the new vehicles with 12 to 25 fps ( with SP 1,4 I would easily get 15 to 35) because I have 4gbs of RAM and a decent gpu 512mbs ddr3.

All 3 matters; 1) processor, 2) gpu and 3) RAM( to a lesser extent)
