This gunsight reticle's presented in the game already. The goal is - it wasn't included to Jaghdpanther. As my point a current one is quite suitable, though it doesn't look realistic, but it's better than to use "original" by keys "H/J".

Sorry lockie I don't understand, you use the Tiger optic because it is better?

Lockie

Surely for what is the most realistic simulator on the market, from where I am standing, its better to have the right gunsight reticle for the right vehicle or have I fallen off the horse?

Apologise, if I have read the post wrong

That's a double edged sword. You can't adjust the jadpanther scope, which makes the Tiger sight more accurate

Yes, it's more comfortable and easy than such as "original", which is full of bugs and you don't know what the key(H/J) should be pressed to catch the aim. After, all your adjusting simply wipe out if your gunner put out from the hatch. Oh, and another one - the same sound "open hatch or adjust reticle" Smiley
Of course, it's interesting and give more feelings as u're in a real machine, but I prefer comfort, like unreal gunsight for Stug III G.

The game itself wasn't designed for the "drum-gunsight". A current one is just a trick, but that's OK - some1 like it, some1 not. And of course, all above said it's only my personal opinion. As I told, if I had a chance - I'd prefer a comfort Wink
Anyway, I've already uploaded a source file vs a similar reticle and it could be applied to the jagdpanter in a way as a "drum-gunsight".

I understand and fully respect your decision.

If it is not to much trouble would you be kind enough to explain to me how I can change the current optic for the Stug optic.

It's a long and complicate story Wink I may help with some steps.
There are the three major steps:
1. Draw the reticle.
2. Put in the game and adjusting.
3. Connect reticle as a hatch to the spg barrel.
Let's start from the point 2.
You need an instruction by egorOgr.  It's in russian:
http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/showthread.php?t=60094
1. Save your file in format "*.emf"
2. Open SF Object Editor->F8->open reticle file
You got a reticle model in format "*.go".
3. Use instruction by Mishel_new(translated Txema) to attach reticle to spg:

Speaking of the Jagdpanther's reticle I agree with the majority, despite Murkz' generous offer, that the current reticle is comfortable and easy to use.It is the same reticle used by the Tiger II.However the Tiger II variant uses 2 types of magnification while the Jagdpanther allows only the larger one.I  like the larger one to spot targets  but the smaller one I prefer to use for shooting as it allows more precise aiming. Is there anyway to get the smaller magnification into the Japdpanther's reticle?

On the question of optics.

Is it possible to zoom the optic and not have the strich zoom as in real life? At the moment both zoom Smiley

If the model is Jagdtiger Ausf. H then reticle should be WZF 2/7:

Primary Magnification: 10
Primary Field of View: 7

I think it's Sfl.ZF 1a for Jagdpanzer IV/48, JagdpanzerIV/70(A), Jagdpanzer IV/70(V).

I think it's similar to the one used by the Jagdpanzer Elefant/Ferdinand in the game.

Hi Lockie,

While we are speaking about gunsights, let me suggest something:

Could you please consider re-doing the gunsights of the "Panzer IV F2" and of the "Panzer IV F" ?

The gunsights that we currently have in Steel Fury are not the real ones. The real ones look like:

Panzer IV F2:
http://postimage.org/image/2k5n0c7gk/

Panzer IV F:
http://postimage.org/image/2k608mzes/

The pictures are from Steel Fury because they were developed for Fall Blau but never released...

Hi, Txema.
Gunsight for PzIV waz originally made by developers and I think it's quite enough acceptive and suitable. Means, as my point there's no need to redone it.

I've idea, if some1 plays in WoT, there should be a reticle for jagdtiger. There's only need to make a screenshot and place here on the forum.

WOT will not have the correct optic, they use a generic sight.

Red Orcherstra Darkest Hour mod has a JagdTiger with optic, which looks like the pak optic, same as the JagdPanther optic should be, so i guess you wont use the correct one.

If you want a screenie I can grab one.
