No rends I think in the read me that comes with the installtuion disc it specifically mentions that the fps are limited to 60 by default. No idea why?May be it has to do with the fact that the game, apparently, cannnot take advantage of multi core cpus....
I usually get 30 to 40 fps average but wiht a failry powerful card.Otherwise SF is fairly fps hungry for such a simple game...

S..... you have good specs! What ATI gpu do you have?
OK I have an intel i7 2.80ghtz, 1 Tb of HD,8 gbs of RAM and an ATI HD5670 1gb drr5.Not a powerhouse gpu-wise and I get an average of 30 to 40 fps.
1) try unchecking the "Use Desktop Resolution' box in your game settings.FPS will shoot up guranateed.
Now image quality will somewhat deteriorate in terms of sharpness but this you can compensate tinkering with the 3 sliders: brightness, contrats and gamma.I can give you my settings. For example with the box "Use Desktop Resolution" in a tank heavy mission I get 18 to 25 fps.Unchecking it gives me 25 to 45.I also adjusted the settings in the ATI Catalyst box to performance rather than quality.I can give you my own settings if you want....
Likewise I have a Toshiba Qosmio with an Nvidia GTX560M 1.5 gb drr5 and I had to do the same to get better fps.Unchecking the "U D R" box paid off.The fps almost doubled...

Whukid in the video settings I have brightness set at 50, contrast at 84 and gamma at 119.I play at 1680 X 1050 resolution( it's sufficient for me).The Anisotropic slider is set at 2( max is 5).Try the formula that works for you.On my Qosmio res is max 1600 X 900 with same other settings.

It's odd because on all 3 laptops/pc my fps increased dramatically????Is your card ddr2 or 3???It may be that your pc 's specs are too low to make a difference.have you tried game booster? It would help you with your pc.It's free program easy to download and install which actually help older pcs or those with lower specs. It takes 5 minutes to download and another 5 to install and run.

The geforce9400 use DD3 RAM and yes i also have gamebooster installed. But beside a little more free RAM i havn´t sen any differences in SF. What i think of a problem is that SF42 doesn´t support multicore so it make use of one 2.26GHZ core only and left the other core running idle.

I agree with you.Even having a quad or six-core does not seem to make that much difference. That game seems to have been created with antiquated pcs and not meant to be too heavy in terms of battlefields.
