Yes yet another question from me.   Roll Eyes  So does it work?  Does it require some cfg file to know what to flatten?  If I go to sukoi.ru will I find an answer?

So unpacked the Afganistan campaign, added in a few more AT weapons into the pool (remember I like my pants on fire).  Now how can I repack?

And will other people please register and post on the forum so I don't feel so alone?Huh

Copy modtools_rus.pdf, if you have it, to the google translate, there should be informations about it. In the modwork/examples folder you have an example for mkflat command.

I don't think so, with the horrible distribution and advertising of graviteam games many people just don't know anything about them, and especially about this forum.

Totally right about the manuel google translate.

Well I did hit up the sukhio.ru web sight.  A couple things stood out for me.

1. Choose a font which supports crylic (WHY DIDNT I THINK OF THAT).

2.  I'm thinking what I want is compile operation, which is in the editor.  I have only sort of gotten that too work.  Pretty sure theres a localization issue somewhere in there.  I know I should just wait but as in all things I figured unpack, change a couple lines, repack, and play.  Ah no, too easy.  lol

Cry ok I appear to be a retard Cry

Grrrrrr.  I know im close.  I have my !flatlist file and it looks right.  When i use mkflat it asks for flatdata file which I find odd as thats what the end result should be.

Super, my stuborn nature will not let me let this go.  errrrrgrrrr

Wolk have you been able to flatten files?

have you tried compressing the folders to a ".rar" or something and changing the file ending to ".flatdata"? I thought that was kind've odd as well. My IDF mod is currently on hold Sad

I sort of deleted them and started over.  Right now I am simply trying to unflaten and then reflatten various types of files.  Which so far I have failed at.

So the !flatlist file that is generated while unflattening should be able to be used with the mkflat correct?  Thats what Im getting from the manuel.  But that is certainly not the case.  So does the mkflat use the !flatlist file?  Or does something need to get renamed etc?

Ok, so now Im attempting to do the same using operation star and k43.  HA  I found my forgotten installation of steal fury 42, go me, lol.  Ill have to look for new mods when I get a chance.

At first sight everything looks fine.

You execute (like descripted in manual): starter.exe  mkflat,  users\modwork\my_addon.flatdata, users\modwork\my_addon.!flatlist
(throught .cmd file) and do nothing?

Yes, thats the kicker.  Well i did make the folder modwork under users but I did not call it my_addon...If that ends up being the problem hand, staple, forehead.

Now this is where I am unclear.  You say
Quote
starter.exe  mkflat,  users\modwork\my_addon.flatdata
which should be called after you use the .cmd file.  Now it does ask for a .flatdata file.  So do I need to create something in notepad?  Beacuase I thought it would use the !flatlist to generate that file.  Manuel is not clear if this is the case or am I simply suppose to name the to be created file?

Oh and Andrey thanks for taking the time to help.   Grin

Hello Andrey;

Just want to say that if I had opened up the mkflat .cmd file with notepad 8 hours earlier than I did this post would have been alot shorter.  I figured since the included unflatten.cmd file work that the mkflat.cmd was set up as well.

The included mkflat.cmd

Code:
cd ..\..\..
starter.exe  root\programs\mkflat.progpack

Five minutes after I actually opened it with notepad

Oh ya and be careful with the addpack thing, I just managed to over write a heck of alot of stuff I didnt mean too.  UGH reinstall.
Code:
cd ..\..\..
starter.exe  root\programs\mkflat.progpack,  users\modwork\my_addon.flatdata, users\modwork\my_addon.!flatlist

Yes i know you posted that but the problem was that whole assuming the included file was right.

the included file was right. the instruction was to create a new cmd file in the game's root directory. copy/paste one of the existing cmd files, like the encyclopedia one, rename it to mkflat, then inside, put down:

 starter.exe mkflat, users\modwork\14_15_05_mardga_ussr.flatdata, users\modwork\14_15_05_mardga_ussr.!flatlist
