I was using my mortar unit for on map fire support just now and noticed that even when significant accuracy was achieved for my area target the mortars would still only fire another round after their previous had landed.  Artillery is supposed to switch to a higher rate of fire when their target is zeroed in so as to have an effect on it.

Im confused about which mortars your talking about?  The squads mortars or the off the map mortars.  If its a squads mortar that doesn't make sence as they are going for direct support of their platoon.  IE. they are not set up like an arty battery.  If it is divisional mortars they are set up as an arty battery but they would be supporting lots of units.  Seems like they might me going for a sustained rate of fire over firing as fast they can, then having all the problems that come with over heating.....like blowing up.

Ok I had another mortar unit today and they're firing a higher rate of fire so I guess the patch did something or it's just a anomaly the first time.
