    Achtung Panzer Operation Star - Quick Facts "...Achtung Panzer: Operation Star really is a gem, especially for the addicted wargamer. The concept of the game and its immersion is quite astounding. Although the game suffers from a few shortfalls, a few bugs here and there. But a few bugs are expected upon initial release, so I’m looking forward to the first patch release. Though, there are some problems that may require a little bit more than just a fix. These include a dumbfounded AI and a simplistic—kind of limited—HUD that could use a couple extra buttons and better text pop-up descriptions. Sounds were mediocre at times and didn’t have much variety to them, making the sound redundant. The game has a lot of potential, if these little issues were addressed. I do see a lot of attention being drawn not just from Matrix Games, but from the community—such as mods and GUI fixes. Other than that, Achtung Panzer: Operation Star can be addicting for any historical wargamer as long as they have a little patience. ..."

    "..look at five of 2011’s best strategy games... ..A Total War-style turn-based overview/real-time battles game which covers one of the lesser known conflicts of the War in the East – the battle for Kharkov in the winter of 1943. It was made by a small Russian developer based in Kharkov itself and shows why it is a good idea to buy local. The game takes place on an incredibly detailed map of Kharkov and its environs that the developers have modelled by going out and taking photos of the actual battlefields. The result is a huge and detailed map (some 250km square) that the battles ebb and flow over. Coupled with the (now standard for any serious wargame) calculations of bullet trajectories and armour hull thicknesses, you end up with a very realistic simulation of the battle..."

    "...Even if I compare with Combat Mission, I would emphasize that apos not try to copy or emulate other games on the market today. Graviteam have their own vision and their own way to make games, making them one of the games developers, which I think makes the very best in this niche market."
