No of course not but every time you download or install something be it a game or program you always get a prompt telling you that the file is going to be installed into the C:X86 Program Files by default do you want to insall it into another folder?This is where people have to use their fingers and simply enter a different destination folder.....

Yes, worthy advice. There should be a sticky for that, it might save a lot of trouble  Smiley

Nowadays modern desktops come with 1 terabyte of hard disk space and laptop with at least 500 gbs so there's plenty of room to make new partitions.

On my Qosmio laptop with 640 gbs of hard disk I have created 2 partitions each of 150 gbs and on them I have installed 10 different versions of SF ( 5 each).I have your Pz III missions in 3 of the installations and your Pz38(t) in another 2 and absolutely no conflicts, no issues even through many of the installations are similar with just a little variant.Likewise I have other games Bf2, BF3, TvsT, PE, SB etc installed in the 2 partitions and again no conflicts...In fatc I don't have any game installed in the C: drive.... With Vista this saves you from having to use the Admin option every time you need to make a modification.

Hi,

This issue crops up with new cards and drivers - the game can't recognize their memory properly:

http://graviteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=11121.msg31264#msg31264

There are a couple of things you could try, to bypass the 'memory problem':

Hemi, what kind of graphic card do you have? It could be the AA( Anti Aliasing) that's creating the blurriness.

Go to the config  file : data/k42/loc_rus/config and open it with notepad. Check the render paragraph to see what values are in there. Here's mine below for comparison. You can use it simply change the res to the one you  prefer and make sure you save the changes before closing the  file:

//îïèñàíèå è êîíôèãóðàöèÿ âèäåîàäàïòåðà
i_render:render()
{
   //àäàïòåð
   adapter   =   0;
   //ðàçðåøåíèå, ÷àñòîòà, ðåæèì
   bb_wid   =   1600;
   bb_hei   =   900;
   bb_freq   =   60;
   bb_fmt   =   22;
   //ðåæèì áóôåðà ãëóáèíû
   depth_buffer   =   75;
   //îáðàáîòêà âåðøèí
   vertex_processing   =   1;
   //ãàììà (0.0 - inf  def 1.0)
   gamma   =   1.070000;
   //ÿðêîñòü (-1.0:1.0 def 0.0)
   bright   =   0.510000;
   //êîíòðàñò(0.0:1.0 def 1.0)
   contrast   =   0.970000;
   //àíòèàëèàñèíã (òèï, êà÷åñòâî)
   aa_type   =   0;
   aa_qual   =   0;
   //óðîâåíü àíèçîòðîïèè
   aniso   =   0.000000;
   //ïðîïîðöèè ýêðàíà (4/3, 16/9, 16/1, 5/4)
   aspect   =   0.000000;
   //îêîííûé ðåæèì
   windowed   =   0;

}// end of i_render:render

You can use my value or make sure at least that the resolution in the render entry is the same that you set in the game menu and matches your pc screen resolution:

Disable all Anti Aliasing in your Nvidia Control Panel or the ATI Catalyst suite depending on your gpu.As you see in my own render 'entries I have the AA type and qual set to 0.

There's something else to try, which is quite a long shot.

Step 1: Change your Win7 desktop settings to something lower, say 1600 x 900. If the results are okay, then,
Step 2: Change the config.engcfg bbwid and bbhei settings to match the new resolution, then try them out in-game.

If everything is okay so far, then:
Step 3: Change Win7 desktop setting back to 1920 x 1080.
Step 4: Change config.engcfg bbwid and bbhei to match the resolution.

Occasionally, application settings fail to 'take' when the driver settings remain as defaulted,

Good luck,

PS
Throughout all this, its important to un-check the 'Restrict Video Modes' (or check the 'Do not restrict Video Modes'  Cheesy) setting in the game. Since the game can't recognize your card, its automatic restrictions would be unreliable.

With SF it is, unfortunately, an exclusive Nvidia problem.I have read about 30 to 40 similar complains so far and all were Nvidia gpu owners( that includes me as well). No ATI user( including me) has ever reported having that problem.Has to be related to the architecture of Nvidia graphic cores which do not mesh with SF 's engine.chipsd

1) You cannot install Windows 7 on any paritition other than the C:drive....

2) best is to install SF and all your games to another partition; i.e partition your hard drive.

3)1280x768???/That's a low res...What kind of specs do you have?

ah yes i've only have low spec CPU :
CPU G630 dual 2.7ghz + MSI H61 Motherboard + DDR3 PC10600 6GB + VGA GTX 285 2gb 512bit + 19" samsung LCD
right now im using nvidia driver 327.23 and i've to custom it to have full screen at 1280x768 75hz ( (i guess it's depend on nvidia driver to get 1368x768 without trouble.) ..the only display that i can have full screen now is only 1280x768 75hz and if i try to change it to 1368x768 even 60,72 or 75 my screen never get full screen, so i must looking for the right driver for my POV GTX285.
im still havent found it yet which one is good

but previously i run SF 2.0 on xp 32bit all set full with 8x AA + 4X Aniso still fine and playable but because i want to run it with 6gb ram so i change to win 7
my OS system now : C = Win 7 32bit and D = Win 7 64bit
why 2 system because at the first time i only have win 7 32bit version but after that i install win7 62bit on partition D

Since your gpu is old I would go for older driver versions: 301 or 306. But even still it won't give you much in terms of fps. Win 7 is not as forgiving as XP in terms of performances....But computers have changed since XP and have become much more powerful.

Only 512 mbs of video memory that ain't much. Is it ddr3 or gddr5? I think you're due for an upgrade. You can get an ATI 7770 1gb gddr5 for cheap nowadays and it will give you very solid performance for a really good price.

Still having 2 gbs of video memory is wasted when you have ddr3 instead of gddr5. Ddr3 memory is twice as fast as Dddr2 and in turn Gddr5 is twice as fast as ddr3. So in other words you'd have better game performances with a 1 gb Gddr5 graphic card than with your 2gbs of ddr3.

My ATi 7750 128 bits 1 gb of Gddr5 lets me play SF at constant fps of 60 for the stock missions and even heavy user-made missions with upto 70 to 80 tanks at 30 to 45 average....

BTW I read a few posts about drivers for the GTx 285 and the consensus seems to be that the 296 drivers are the last best and most stable for your gpu.Some have tried the 310 with great success others have had issues with them.Try the 296.

Wieknera, one last possible solution. Have you tried setting your game res from within the Nvidia control panel? the display options? You can normally tailor all your games. I remember having a similar issue but with an ATI card and a different game and I was able to bypass that problem by setting the game res from within the ATI Catalyst suite control panel.

No I checked the Nvidia Control panel and unlike ATI's Catalyst Suite you cannot set your games screen resolution from within it. I also checked within Nvidia Inspector but no go....
