Title: Introducing MOD ISABOW......
Post by: Flashburn on October 19, 2012, 08:09:32 PM
http://www.mediafire.com/?0aqqpc758rsxsjt (http://www.mediafire.com/?0aqqpc758rsxsjt)  win RAR file
http://www.mediafire.com/?u646vau0hm1q63n (http://www.mediafire.com/?u646vau0hm1q63n)  win ZIP file............oooooo choices..
New link.........made a screw up.  Fixed screw up.  :D screw up times.........stupid armor map for apc's

yes a link to ISABOW part 1.  more to come.

ISABOW........More APC's than you can shake a stick at.

Ok what this is so far........
3 new ai vehicles M106a1 self propelled mortar, m113a1 with m40 recoiless rifle, and an m113.
The old mini mod with just Iran/Iraq units so far.
73mm energa rifle fired anti tank grenade
40mm rifle fired smoke grenade
rdg2 smoke grenade
m1 style steel helmet.
A newer version of Crescent Moon campaign (m60) Many units added.  Alas no time to figure out the new scipting stuff for it.  Should play like the older one, but with more units on both sides.

Using the m106............ need to select command vehicle.  Find the crosshair icon, place on what you want to blow up on map.  Simple as that.  each mortar carrier has 88 107mm mortar bombs.  This will easily kill everything but a tank.  You only get, 4 use them well.

This will be a work in progress as I update older parts of campaigns and mod.  Expect updates pretty often as things get completed.

In future m113's will be completed and made playable (I HOPE).  Using temp textures that WILL get better.
Saladin armored car did not make it in yet.  But will once made playable and a campaign made for it (I hope).
A playable oliphant tank (I hope)
I should have an update featuring Mardga Expert (Soviet t62 campaign) by next weekend with its part of the old mini mod.
Campaign the ROAD (iraq t62 campaign) should be following sometime after.

Oh ya requires August beta patch

well looks like no one has DLed it. So hmmm :-\  But i did miss Europes Friday evening.  And the East Coasts is just starting.  :D

BTW.......if you could not get the idf tank to sort of work for you I can rebuild in my new improved mod structure and upload to you.  Thing does not fully work.........crashes all the time and the inside look like SHIT.  But still...

really? it should have at least 2; I messed up with the first download.

Right now, I'm still trying to get the IDF mod into the game. It apparently isn't being acknowledged by the updater..

EEEEEEhhhhhhhhh who knows......  Sometimes takes like 24 hours to update stats.  but it usually will register the first couple.   :-\

Did you redo your addpack file?

oh and I am wondering if RAR file type is to wonky for some.  Just been using it alot as its a slighly smaller file size than zip.  Should add a zip too I guess.  Plus windows should be able to open that.  Was not thinking that all the way.

I figured it out; I put the .addpack file in the wrong folder :P

Well, after getting the mod updated to the last patch, I began trying to get the Sho't to be employed instead of the Chieftain. No such luck yet

On iran side?  Thats where everything is.  OR are you running your mod on top and overwriting somehow.  Which should NOT do that btw.  hmmmmmmmmmmm

I was an idiot on where I put stuff in quick battle.  Well actually no....I made it easy for me to test o rama.  the APC's show up under tank company and the m106 shows up under airboarne company.  Yes stupid.  will need to change that.  They are in the pool.

BTW.  Anyone Downloading this thing, could you say something.?  Mediafire is reporting downloads totally wrong.  Says 1.  LOL  Well i know 2 have Downloaded it AND my usage meter of bandwith keeps rising.  I love media fire.  grrrrrrrrrrr.  Trying to gauge popularity.  If high enough will not slack on next parts.  If low...well ill slack.  That damned X COM game has by name on it. :D

One of my apc playable test rigs.  Some progress.  But have not been able to figure out what the heck is wrong with commanders place.  Can't turn out, cant use .50 and just all around messed up.  Have spent about a week on that issue alone.  May just move on and attempt to get drivers area all working as that works correct.  Crashing issues seem to be solved?  Well it has not done it for awhile :D. That was largly Krabb's doing.  :D

It doesn't seem to save the knocked out vehicles' locations from previous battles in the Crescent moon campaign. Bug?

for any vehicle, not just yours. It's kind've heartbreaking to knock out all those armored vehicles and then not have a chance to see them on the battlefield

YOU are totally right.  Nothing is showing!  ARGH!  Ok......fix that asap.  Also m113 regualr are rarely engaging anything.  Just to easily supressed.  Against targets in quick battle they torn shit up.  As this is a beta in a beta LOL! I might screw around with that gun sheild and force the gunner out.  Don't know. Not sure how to get them to be less cowards.  Alot of techn file is a total mystry as to what does what.

Need to figure out if the issue is MY beta or Graviteams beta.....or both mixed together.

Well figured out why not showing up.   :-\  Path for ostov format changed.  Since first version released Krab made a ENglish/Russian version that is more optimised than mine.  I would get that one of simhq and try it.  But WILL be fixed and 2x checked.

In case anyone cares or needs mod type stuff answered by me, Ill be away for any damned computer for a few days.  Extended family type get togther where I will be attempting go get some kids horizons expanded with things NOT "video" game related.  BAD LAZY parents today!  Just finished the plaster part of some ULTRA geek game board thingie.  Not a clue WTF I am doing except I know how to work with plaster, plastics and can figure/model paint well.

Well actually nothing wrong with pc/console games other than the fact the current main stream stuff is totally pointless and can mess up a young mind.  Why the hell a parent buys something like COD or what ever gore fest game for 7, 8, 9 years is totally beyond be.

Well this also means no more work on mod stuff till next week by me.  No way Ill get anything done before next weekend.  Just want to push out all the old updated stuff from old mod while working on the new stuff and fixing issues with this thing.  1 i know about allready but its going to have to wait.

Freaken media companys and stupid parents.  Freaken kids don't have a damned clue what sex is but they know all about killing.   :-\

A little burb on the state of things with mod.

Well stalled up pretty good right now.   :-\  Progress has been made, but solve one issue (or in this case Krabb did) have a hand full more to follow. Quite simply burned out on the unknowns.  However still working on problems, just slower than before.  But am now looking for a side project to recharge on.  Possible things such as an SU7 fighter bomber (sabow) or perhaps a PE2 or Su2 for apos.  Although wonder what is in the pipe for the Kolen Gol deal.   :P

I should have done a damned BTR152 playable.  It would be complete and out the door a week or 2 ago WITH all the same issues Krabb and myelf have encountered.

In case anyone knows..........

Issues to still solve with playable m113/tanks/whatever.

Making custom sights.....

making customs gizmos (ok things like side levels that sort of thing)

Working freaking parascopes!  (this one I will probably solve vary shortly now that I found a stupid error I made)

More understanding of config plc states entry in cocpit config.  Krabb has done a great job on this one.  The only reason playable m113 is now stable in test rig.

Bringing in things like MG's from other files so as not to have everything you make have an m2hb texture wasting space on every model a guy makes.  Silly mod
tools on that one.  Need to figure out a work around.  Ideal would be doing a large 1024 x1024 texture in DX1 or better still something around 700 x 700 in DX5 that could be used on all my vehicles and such.  But no way to specify two or more source textures with mod tools.   Need to look into manual editing of files or something.  Apply textures in .DDS and change extenstions to sabow/apos texture.  Or something.  :-\  Not sure on this at all.

More custom recoil specs.  SABOW/APOS do a great job on tank guns and the like.  Not so well at all on little things like MG's.  A non issue unless playable.  Then your heavy mg seems stupid and game like when using the bugger.  BUT I must admit have not played that much with all the values yet.

Is this still good with the latest patch? Also, have you found a way to fix the wreckage not appearing?

Hmmm unknown.  I will poke around and dust the cobwebs off.   :P  WITHOUT Isabow does the F5e show up?  It could be something wrong with install of unofficial patch off of here.  OR you got the broken version of ISABOW... don't ask.  I did not know about that FOREVER.  But one link was to broken version.  Funny thing is NO ONE said anything LOL.  Also I may be doing a bit more with sabow soon.  I miss it and need some new things in there for myself at least.   ;D

Title: Re: Introducing MOD ISABOW......
Post by: Flashburn on July 26, 2013, 02:17:15 AM
Oh DUH you are running older version.  Get 5.81 and its beta 3 file.  Its under download under the sabow page on main graviteam sight.

http://www.graviteam.com/SABOW/gte2_core_update_eng_v581.exe
http://www.graviteam.com/SABOW/mtc80_sabow_patch_aug12_eng_beta3.gt2extension

Also testing and will provide link I know that works for mod.  Up in a few.

http://www.mediafire.com/?727tifyshltz9b1  that works FOR SURE.  that is ISABOW.  Alas it is missing a few config bits and is not compatible with some of the other campaigns I did.  I really should fix that.   ;D ;D

If interested let me know and Ill update all the other campaigns and crap I did into Isabow.  I really should anyways.  But this has been sort of dead for a bit now.   :'(  Would be......if memory serves 4 or 5 more campaigns I did.  Only reason I stopped was I got to know all the maps to damned well.  In I sabow is just 1 campaign.  I intended to update the rest in later but did not do vary well as a mod.  To late I think.  Cresent moon is a ball braker.  It is analogy of WW3 in Europe..  In that you are MASSIVLY out numbered.  But it is winnable.  You just have to fight smart and do a lot of "retrograde" actions to grind down the reinforced mechanized infantry battalion you are getting hammered with.  Your m106 mortar carriers can help ALOT with that.  :D  And don't let your scouts get slaughter to fast.  They are small in numbers but have a fair amount of firepower.  AND they can call in supports you NEED to survive.

Oh and this campaign should work as well http://www.mediafire.com/download/qmab26n4du8mbk8/Operation_safari_V1.5_ENG.zip  Operation safari.  Again few tanks...  The idea was the player would ONLY have to worry about them selves MAINLY.   :P

Oh and last things.  There are a few new things I made in the mod DUH.  ok new m113a1, m113a1 with M40, and m106 mortar carrier of course.  Also iran guys get helmets and some units now have rifle fired grenades that can mess up tanks pretty bad and kill light armor if they get the chance. OH and that 5.81 and beta files ADD a ton to game.  Also my m2hb, f5e, and g3 rifles are added in via that patch (5.81 and beta3 from graviteam).  They will show up where correct in default campaigns of course.

LOL....I need to make something new and playable for my own next through of SABOW.   :P ::)  This is YOUR fault Rico1979  .  If I had NOT fired up good ole sabow........  still needs newer polygons but still damned good sim IMO.

If I could ONLY find pictures of the insides of an IDF centurion from around 1970........  maybe I cOULD do something.  SIGH. Any one want to fly me to Lat run armor museum in Israel?   ::) :P ;D :'(

ISABOW work, missing only one tiny detail that I found myself in paradise .... IDF SHOT ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I'm sorry Flashburn, but I'm a fan of the IDF. You did a good job, do not waste it

Title: Re: Introducing MOD ISABOW......
Post by: Flashburn on July 27, 2013, 02:10:36 AM
getting it to work as ai playable is possible right NOW.  But as a playable vehicle is quite pesky.  Plus I have zero data wtf this looks like on the insides.  I know it uses a bunch of off the shelf US tank gear from era but that's it.  At minimum it would HAVE to have fire controls correct and working periscopes.  But no periscopes and a lot of little wrong stuff.  Yes one of the MANY things I wish for is something playable with IDF in there. Super shermans and some MBT (m48 centurian whatever). Either need to find someone with all the needed info or GO to where this stuff is and take a look.  PLus of course FULLy understanding how it all works in game.  In the end.......sigh.  Simply is MUCH more doable to do something like a playable m3, m4 tanks from ww2 SO much more info out there.  Just no place to stick in an up to date sim that has a future.

In closing........ do not expect anything on this.   :'(  it is sad state of affairs.  SABOW as of the last patch made HUGE strides forward.  But reality of market shares and all that do NOT look promising. I still am going to poke around in sabow it looks like.  But is side line to other things for me now.    :'( :'( :'(
