I don't see why not???Except for DOS games form 80-s or early 90s I don't see why everytime a new OS comes out people wonder whether fairly recent games will work or not.I have had games made for Windows 95, 98 , 2000 and XP that worked fine with Vista or Windows 7.There are 2 golden rules:

1) do not , as much as possible, install the game on the C: drive to avoid any Administrator issue whether when you install it or when you install new mods etc.... Install it on a separate partition.

2) if the game is really old just use Window compatibility settings.

Well, I guess it won't work. The game is obsolete and wasn't design for the win8. I remember, when win7 appeared, then right immediately users got a problems with SF installation and running. Let's remember the HUGE problems with monitor or videocard compatibility.

I've run it fine on Win7 before, so it might work.

OS are not a hindrance it's just that games made for former OS need to be adjusted to work  properly but it's often just a little bit of work. Why wouldn't SF not work with Windows 8 Huh?? Because of the touchscreen activated controls?Huh?

Tanker sorry I didn't realize you were a veteran of SF.... Wink

Yeah it works fine, also is there a fix for the hitching you get when stuff's happening I don't remember it being quite this bad years ago.

It's when the game freezes for a micro second when lots of shells are flying around.
I think it's just some of the new missions put much more units onto the battlefield weighting down the old game engine.

Unfortunately, there is no fix to decrease the freezes Sad
Except one method - decrease the quantity of the units on the battlefield.

Very good specs but the game won't take advantage of most of it because it's built for pre multi-core + pre 64bit.

The game is very sensitive to sound and I have noticed that intense and repetitive sounds lead to stuttering...
