i've heard good things about the 2nd generation i5 family of CPU's, they seem to be pretty evenly matched (preformance wise) with first generation i7's which is what my rig has (i7 870) and I have no complaints with my current CPU. Actually I was going to suggest the Intel i7 870 to you Rends, figured they would be pretty cheap now being Intel is now on the third generation of their i family of CPU's. But i was really shocked to see my current CPU cost more then most 3 generation Intel CPU's  Shocked
Cheers

BRING BACK MARKERS

I don't think you'll have any problems if you select an AMD cpu.  I have an AMD Phenom II quad core and it's run everything I've thrown at it without a hitch.  It's all a matter of choice and price comparison.

Might be true. I updated my Sons PC with a AMD Phenom II 945 CPU a while ago and it seems he is very happy with it. Now the outdated Graphic card is the bottleneck in his System.

If i don't raise my budget too much i will either go for a i3 or the Phenom II but i will make sure that it won't be lower than 3GHz.
Thx for help guys.
