For anyone interested,
Google books has some nice preview chapters on the Mius river front battles.
Decision in the Ukraine by George Nipes and Kursk the German View by Steven Newton
If you Google these two separate titles than click on books you will find quite a few chapters of semi detailed reading on the Mius battles.
I already own Kursk the German view and hopefully I would like to buy George Nipes' book if I can find a decent used non expensive hard copy edition.
Nipes goes into much more detail on battles than Newton does.
I especially liked Nipes book about the battles around Kharkov in early 43 "Last Victory in Russia 1943". This book really put the APOS game into perspective when I started playing it.

Andrey,
The screen shots you posted for GTMF of the Russian tanks look very good.
Are they in high resolution? and if so Will this be a standard feature with the new game or will we have to purchase a high resolution DLC for this game also?

Partially. and if so Will this be a standard feature with the new game or will we have to purchase a high resolution DLC for this game also?
Of course not. High-resolution textures increase the system requirements for the game, with absolutely no need to play it. Also increase the size of distribution package with the game and for future patches. No sense of their place in the game.

Пользовательский интерфейс будет неуместен на сегодняшних широкоэкранных экранах, а оригинальные карты неопределенного метра и моделирование чисел с низкими лицами заставляют людей действительно не хотеть играть.

Fascinating. What were they doing to the main gun barrel? Seems a shame to mutlilate it. There's probably better ways to make in nonfunctional.

How big is the Mius Front map going to be? It looks very good 8) I'm really looking forward to this game. Russia(Ukraine) during WW2. My favorite time period and place for gaming tactical warfare.

approx 140 sq km That's very good news 8) Much larger than Volokonovka. Looks like Mius Front is going to be a very fun map to maneuver on.

Sorry Tanker I'm a bit late catching up here... Nothing specific was said (as far as I could tell) as to why the guy sliced the barrel open. I presumed the gun had been spiked & he was cutting out the block that had been put into the barrel. Guessing tho. Still it was amazing that they got it started & drove it without worrying about dismantling & lubricating things like tracks. The guy filming said that no-one living there actually knew how long it had been sat there, just that it had been made in late WW2. Seeing how far it had sunk into the turf I thinking it was more than a few years. Quality Russian built-to-last hardware
