The next DLC can not appear as yet have not guessed the place where It will take place  Cheesy

Let me remind:

name Z...l (last letter is small L  Grin )
Story: two superpowers fight in mountains w/o nuclear weapons, from 1960 - to 1980.
The previous version with Damanskiy was damn close, but wrong.

Zhalanashkol seems like more of a minor border skirmish then an actual battle.

Though I do like the idea of having some Chinese forces in the game.

No superpowers involved in the Indian, Pakistani battle.  Unless the next DLC is a plausible what if, like the Prophet is.

I'm not sure what Andrey considers is the definition of a "superpower".

Is it a country with access to nuclear weapons?
If so Pakistan and India qualify.

I always considered that to qualify as a military superpower you need to be able to project your military anywhere on the globe in large numbers and sustain it in combat for a long period of time.

China to me doesn't qualify for this status in the 1960-80s.Still iffy if they qualify in that area today either.

To me only two countries really qualified for Superpower status between 1960-80,and that was the United States and the Soviet Union.

Yes

Sorry but no - India first nuclear test at 1974, Pakistan only at 1996.

At 1960-1980 dates not suitable.

 Huh?
Well I don't have a clue where to start.

I searched the internet for battles along the Chinese-Russian border, but came up with nothing that would be considered a battle.

I suppose there was a battle somewhere in one of these shi*kick towns in east tree stump province, but I can't find it. Angry

Its a simple question, only one battle is suitable to Z..l, and right answer in the topic.

Zhalanashkol  1969.

That's fine with me.

Doesn't seem like much of a battle, but it has Russians and Chinese and that's a good start.

BRING BACK MARKERS

« Reply #12 on: May 12, 2013, 04:36:22 PM »

Well China test nukes in 1964 but hardly qualified as a super power in the 1960-1980 time frame by any standard definition of the term.

Me too, I'm afraid!

I respect the developers branching out into little-known conflicts, but I just can't get involved in them.

Yeah,I was hoping he would have had this mod ready by now.
I read awhile ago that He was going to post it in the beginning of May,but I haven't read anything since about when He will release it.

His infantry skin mod is always the mod I look forward to the most for this game.

Your missing some very spectacular battles with the modern weaponry.

I played a quick battle today on the Taranovka map, where I had a company of Mujihadeen defend the South end of the town against an assault by a Soviet Motor Rifle Company and the show that the modern weapons put on was very impressive.Better than any war movie I've watched lately. The fact that I got to direct one side made it even more enjoyable.
