Title: A fine game, but where are the modifications?
Post by: Ballacraine on September 22, 2013, 09:02:15 PM
Yes, I realise that I am a latecomer to this excellent game.

The core game is so good that it really deserves expansion mods.

Are there any still available?

I have tried the demo for operation star & find the UI a lot less intuitive & user friendly than this earlier game.

Gotta say I am disappointed with the total lack of response here!

GTOS/APOS replaced APK43.

No one bothers to come here because this game is obsolete and no longer supported.

If you have any questions about the game try the GTOS/APOS thread.

It''s still supported, but not as APK43 but as GTOS.

APK43 was the initial game APOS replaced it and now APOS(Achtung Panzer Operation Star) is GTOS(Graviteam Tactics Operation Star).

The new improved version(GTOS) is much better in my opinion.
APK43 was OK for its time, but it's dated.
Everything that was in APK43 is now in GTOS and has been improved upon.

I look at the difference between the two games now and I'm amazed at how much has improved over the last 2 years.I could never play APK43 again after playing GTOS.

Older games are what draw me into a series. If I can't get an old version to get a good grasp on the metrics and dynamics of a game series, the chances of me buying their $50 most up to date version is slim, and usually is none. Unfortunately that's the case at the moment, as in the thread I started, I'm unable to run APK1943, if I can't see what the gui and how the engine works on the older games, it's impossible to tell if it's what I'm looking for. No support for a game that is less than 4 years old??? :-\

Do you read what I and others write?
Try $30 or less for the core game and free updates.
This game-APK43 is no longer supported because the game is now Graviteam Tactics operation Star.
Which is now self published by Graviteam.

APK43 was the initial game by a different publisher.
I'm having a hard time understanding why people keep this thread alive.
If you want to play the supported version of this game you will need to purchase Achtung Panzer Operation Star then update the game(free) to GTOS-Graviteam Tactics Operation Star..
APK43 is the inferior version of APOS/GTOS and is no longer supported for good reason.
