Hia all , first post here and i'm afraid its not all good Undecided

http://imageshack.us/a/img96/2900/supertank.jpg

The story behind the screen shot....

I had waited patiently in the fog for a group of 3 mixed MKIII and a MKIV , the 3's had long 50's i think , and gunfire support version with short 75 , the MKIV had the longer 75

My troop was 3 T34's ...one with flame unit  8)   (in the pic the 4th vehicle in my troop is the other side of the map fixing his tracks from being stuka'd in the last battle)

well as they passed in column i had them cold and moved up to crest the small ridge between me and them getting pretty well hull down ... it kicked off with the left flank vehicle in my troop firing first and hitting the dirt half way to the intended target ..this is going to go well i thought  Tongue

Anyway all my tanks had a target and the firefight was on . .. just sit back and hope now
Smoke cleared and i had 3 tanks still on the field , he was left with his MKIV and the MKIIIN , the MKIV went down with 3 solid hits ,now in flames ... right just this MKIII i chuckled .......  o'rly ?

wtf ......this MKIII with the short 75 systematically destroyed all 3 tanks with first shot hit every time ...and it had received well in excess of 20 hits from my 76mm's and all the fuel from the flame unit , thats why it looks like a bush  Lips Sealed It sat not doing anything for ages just soaking up the hits , then just laughed and killed all my tanks .
The reason my vehicles ended up either side was another side effect of this fantastic AI , knocked out every one of my tanks sights  Sad

Tank combat can be a little strange at times in this game.I've had my tank and an enemy tank only meters apart and never engage each other in a duel but fire on other targets much further away.I just chalked it up as a fortune of war thing, and made the excuse that both tank crews were too singularly focused on other targets to notice the immediate threat that was obviuosly(at least to me) right next to them. What was funny was both tanks destroyed their intended victim, then drove off in opposite directions oblivious to the others presence. Huh? Shocked

Great action shots 8)

I played an intense quick battle this morning where  a lone German Pz III L lorded over my Soviet Mech recon Task force company. Sad

It not only dodged what I thought was a particularly effective artillery barrage,it then commenced to machine gunning down my infantry and went on to dispatch the 3 Stuarts accompanying them.

I had hoped the artillery or 1 of the Stuarts would shoot off a track so I could manuever onto the Pz IIIs flank, but no such luck.

All in all though,it was still a very enjoyable game, and I think I may play this one over again and see how a T-34 thrown into the mix effects the next battle.

This is part 3 of the video to that battle.

I watched those poor Honey's get pop'd  Cry  poor recon going up against those PzIII's

Try a MkII Matilda instead of the T34 next battle , from what i remember , in steel fury they are quite tough, slow .....but tough .  Cheesy

I had played this exact same line up before with the 2 German mech. platoons vs this exact same Soviet recon task force, with the only difference being that the 2 mortar APCs were switched out for armored cars.During that battle the Soviet Task force sliced through the 2 German mech. platoons like a hot knife through butter.

So,I figured this time around I would switch out one of the armored cars for the Pz III L to even things up!

Unfortunately, this tipped the balance in the German favor. So,I will apply your suggestion and see how the Matilda matches up ,the T-34 would probably swing the pendulum the other way.I'll record it on YouTube and post the results here later.

Played this game quite a bit w the 577 patch. Now with the 580 patch it seems a total mess. Super AI cheats like crazy and for me the game is just not enjoyable. Hopefully the new patch will bring some balance, right now it feels like super invincible AI banzai charging across the map into well prepared positions and taking all flags by storm.

Really,I find the AI to be quite brain dead.Especially on the attack.

Strange, as thats not been my experience at all since the last patch. I have all add ons and patch 580. Playing with prior patch I'd still take damage, but generally things would go my way for a victory.

With 580, no matter which country I play for, on the same maps I've played and won previously with 577, the AI just steam rolls my positions. Whatever changes came with the new patch I'm not liking. AI use of artillery feels like uber aimbot that targets with uncanny precision anywhere on the map and incredibly quickly. I'm getting human assault waves attacking at warp speed overrunning positions through concentrated arty, mg, and small arms fire. Nearly invincible tanks (marders) barely taking damage at hand to hand combat range surrounded by my troops with no infantry cover of their own. My troops surrendering (command level) far too quickly. I've even seen the AI literally running across the map during heated battles with heavy 76mm canons trying to capture flags.

Something seems really screwy and contrived, unlike any games from 577.
