Hi tankers,
I got the game working (FYI works on my Win 7 x64, GeForce GTX 770- had to lower the resolution a bit to get it work).
Now I went through the first tutorial, but after I hit "quit" at the end, it doesn't advance me- "continue game" just starts the driving tutorial again. So I selected the second tutorial (the gunnery one) and have exhausted all my sub-caliber rounds on that tank but it never recognizes it?
I read here a bit and it seems I should install the "Steel Panzer 2.0 Mod", but the links are all broken.
I bought it off Amazon as a digital download and already installed the unofficial patch.
What should I try next?

Did you manage to finish the driving circuit? It's a worthy challenge in the Matilda.
In the second tutorial, it's enough to score a hit on each of the target tanks. There are 4 of them, one stationary, and the other 3 bounding around like rabbits.
Good luck!
By the way I'm sure there'll be others telling you to give up, but don't do that, that wouldn't be the proper spirit.

Thanks!
Yes, I did the driving circuit. Found it nearly impossible the first time, and then I realized you need to let the water cool or else the tank loses power. Although the cockpit gauges don't reflect that? I just noticed the water temp in the lower left of the screen was red.
Ok, I'll try shooting them once each time.
Do you know where I can get some mods though, it sounds like there is some neat stuff.

By the way, in case anyone needs convincing about the viability of the gunnery tutorial, here's a video I made some time ago: A journey down memory lane, 'lovingly' retold.

I passed the gunnery tutorial with the SPM 2.0 mod!
The commanding tutorial is a whole 'nother kind of wtf.
If I press F5 and switch to the hull gunner- it seems I can't get back to the commander's position. Is that right?
I guess the "continue game" button just starts the last mission you selected- it doesn't advance them automatically.

If you're using the T-34, press 'F2' to get to the commander / gunner position.
The tutorial text is actually intended for the Matilda tank.

The steel panzer mod suggested by kyth is excellent, stable and i still use it myself. But it's 2 years old and if you want to have the many, many new additions both tank models and missions then i would recommend that you do a second install of the game with the sta 1.0 mod as provided by tanker .

It builds character. 8)
