A few of us are having the same problem when trying to play APOS. It loads fine, but when I try to click anything on the main menu, I get different errors, all with different textures missing.

I played the demo a bunch of times before I bought the game, and never had a problem.

When clicking Player Profile, I get this code:

Critical error
005: Unable to load texture

[ back_04_dift ]

Start works, but when I click on the operation map, everything disappears and the fire (battle icon) is everywhere.

changes to this on a click

Quick Battle seems to work, but is replaced with "???" as the button text

Encyclopedia gives:

Critical error
001: An error has occurred while initializing the program

Options gives:

Critical error
005: Unable to load texture

[ back_05_dift ]

Controls:

Critical error
005: Unable to load texture

[ back_04_dift ]

Update, Credits, and Exit works fine.

Thanks for the reply. Have admin set as default, but ran it in admin mode again just to make sure, still getting the same problem.

LoL I have seen that before.  First thing I would try is creating a new profile and starting a new campaign.  Well that was my problem after I resumed a campaign after patching.  Makes me wonder if demo profile and game profile are conflicted and confussed........another posibility

I used to get the " ? ? ? " for the quick battle option.  For me, it was because I misapplied a patch.

This is very easy to do, even with patching directions.  The game will even load up and have numerous errors, like the " ? ? ? " menu.

Maybe that's the case here, maybe it is something else.

While making my mod for sabow (same game engine) I have had SO many messed up config files and yet the game will still run.  Just with zillions of errors.  But yes a messed up patch could do this as well.

Thanks for the replies. As for the patch problem, I just bought and downloaded the game, so it can't be that problem. I have also tried to re-download and/or re-install many times to no avail. Any suggestions?

Looks like you are running win 7 64bit.  There is an issue that pops up with this and APOS/SABOW.  If it installed to x86 programs try installing it directly under C: drive (or whatever).  I have had issues with win7 and 64bit in the past and ended up installing to C:graviteam instead.  Some weird Win7 issue and APOS/SABOW. If that does not do it I bet it is some conflict between DEMO and retail versions.  Make sure to delete the demo and create a new player profile in game.

I totally thought that was going to work, but alas, it is still having the same problem. Any other suggestions?

Correctly install:
1) game core update
2) last patch, click Save&Play button
3) than create new profile

It's for SABOW, but for APOS all things are the same.

Thank you so much, that finally worked. The game is still the same version, but now works. I guess the download from impulsedriven.com is messed up. Can't wait to finally play.

Thanks.
