Hi chaps,

I've been trying to get my new german helmet into the game. Everything is fine except that the orientation of the helmet on the figure's head is wrong eg. it looks like it is flipped 90 degrees on one axis and 180 deg. on another. I've tried changing the rotation in 3DSMax and also changing it to match the orientation of the original model in Max as well as changing face-winding and normals but it remains the same. I even use the figure model to rotate it correctly but the same thing. Is there a cfg file or something that determines the orientation of gear such as helmets etc.? If you know they you could save me hours of further experimentation.

thanks and kind regards

On the regular helmet model, the back is pointed along the z-axis. 'Up' is the y-axis.

I assume you have also used 'reset x-forms'.

If all else fails, could you try exporting it in '.obj' format?
I could take a look at it in Blender,

PS:

On another note, I managed to find some exact dimensions (and markings) for the water-filled Jerry cans, I had to make a "guestimate" last time so the new ones are "spot-diddly-on-the-money" scale-wise Smiley

whilst I play around with the new helmet, I replaced the one's on my 251 mod with the new ones as well as adding some new hook/brackets to hang them and the jerry cans on.

PPS. this is how I've orientated the new helmet:
