Title: Replace German Officer's Cap with Helmet Mod
Post by: Aces on February 25, 2012, 04:31:08 PM
Hi chaps,

Just uploaded a very simple mod to replace the German officer's cap with the german steel helmet. Although I do like the officer's cap most pictures I've seen of German frontline officers are (sensibly) wearing the steel helmet rather than their cap. You can use this mod in combination with my earlier M1935 steel helmet decal mod if you wish.

Hi Aces,
Thanks for this mod it really helps bring more immersion to SFK42.

@all,
Guys I really want to tell you that Aces  is a great addition to the team that is modding SFK42. I have used his mods for Silent Hunter and what he did for BoB II WoV was just incrediable, extensive and historically accurate. While we might never see a new armor mod from him (but who knows) his attention to the smaller details will be just as important and immersive as new armored units added to SFK42, I for one am very pleased he has decided to apply his talents to SFK42.
Cheers

agree, i know of Aces work from SH3 and they are great. Anyway, the crews and infantry in this game are really something ppl have forgot to fix, They really does need Aces attention :D And hopefully there is alot more coming from both other modders (new USA crewmen, animations, better modelled humans) and Aces excellent mods. So this is very nice :D Keep working Aces!

Hi chaps,

Thank you for your kind words. I'm really enjoying starting to mod for SF42. I have been experimenting with a few things today including a bit of modelling and also reducing what I think is the over-agressive bump mapping intensity on the german panzer uniforms. I will post back when I have more to show but, for the time being, thanks again for your comments and for the warm welcome and see you soon.

Cheers
