Mission tasks.
(german side):
- hold on railroad station

(http://s5.postimg.org/edgxvquxf/destr_t34.jpg) (http://postimg.org/image/edgxvquxf/)
(soviet side):
- attack the town
- occupy a fortified railroad station, which is a stronghold to supply the german front

Suppose, it would be good to have all new info in the one topic. So, the main project has a lot of details and let's see what the new stuff will be implemented in the next mission 'battle in town'.

07.01.2014.
Now we've a briefing for both sides, thanks to our famous scenario-writer Comrade Frinik!
German:
Maenner, today the battle is not about National Socialism, it's not about Freedom, it's not about Germany's Final Victory. No it's about something deeper and stronger. It's about the fate of your families and your loved ones.
The Bolshevists are relentlessly driving towards the sacred soil of Germany nearing East Prussia, Pomerania, Silesia, looting and raping... There's no fall-back position for us, we must fight with our backs to the wall and defeat the Asiatic hordes before they consume not only Germany and your families but the entire European civilization.
The railroad junction is vital to us. We must hold it at all costs otherwise our troops will lose mobility, supplies and the means to counter-attack. We must defend it to the last cartridge. Our Panthers will support infantry and AT guns in repelling the Bolshevist onslaught. Our gunners must use our superior guns to engage and destroy the enemy from far away. Do not give ground unless you are out of ammunition!

Soviet:
Comrades! Today we are entering the lair of the Nazi beast. The beast is wounded and bleeding, but not yet dead. There are still battles left ahead of us before our ravaged Motherland and our scores of dead comrades are avenged. We must make the Fascists pay and pay dearly! We must cease this railway junction to deprive the Hitlerites of any possibility of getting supplies and attacking us. Let's not spare our blood comrades as victory is in sight! For Stalin and for our Socialist Motherland! Atttaaaack!

I'm still hesitate, which troops will attack the german town? Originally, it was planned for the soviet troops (IS-2late, T-34/85, ISU-122), but now according to the new usa armour - tank M26 `Pershing`, spg M36 `Jackson` and light tank M5A1 I've a choice, which side would be better?
What du u think, friends?

Soviets, definitely! Not enough Allied Airplanes to make a realistic Western attack :P

Well you could make 2 mission; one involving the Germans repelling an American attack the second the Soviets defending the town...

It's  possible, but we need etalon mission with a closer to real historic briefing! We suppose to force user to make an alternative history ;)

First try to put in the game a new pillbox. There are some mistakes, but it will be iron out to the end of the month.

What realistic briefing to do you need? ;)

Title: Re: Mission: Defend the Fatherland (partII)

What realistic briefing to do you need? ;)
That will be similar as we did for the mission `save general Finikenko`, where under user's control was apc M3 halftrack. All units more or less suits to the historic briefing. It means, no M-26 at all :)
Same with a new mission. As u remember, originally I had a plan to make a trilolgy as a short campaign:
1. deliver the reconnaissance data to the HQ (bike BMW, mission `Go bike go`)
2. repel the soviet attack near town approach (Panther G, mission `defend the Fatherland`)
3. defend the town/railroad station (Panther G, `defend the Fatherland`partII)
So, the third mission as etalon will be - german vs soviet. First sub-mission we play for the german side(Panther G), second sub-mission we play for the soviet side, i.e. for the ISU-122.
Thus a briefing will be smth. like this:
March 45, german troops must hold on the very important stronghold with a railroad station.
Soldiers, we've to repel the bolshevik hordes and hold the station in the name of our lovely Furher and Fatherland and so on :D
For the soviet on the contrary:
Soldiers, we've to destroy this bastion of the german capitalistishe and bring the freedom to all german ppl and spanish and swiss and australian etc  ;D

Platform for the railroad station is abt to be implemented to the game. Unfortunately, I'm still have problems with making a destroyable object. So, platform for this mission will be un-destroyable and then we shall see ;)

Being roughly a 44 or 45 yr mission/s... a set of missions with the option of attacking Berlin/Frankfurt or the Hürtgen Forest would cover both sides of the war.

a set of missions with the option of attacking Berlin/Frankfurt
I'm pretty sure that any town will suit for the mission, but at this moment we've to put buildings in the game. So, the main purpose of the mission - it's ability to use buildings in the `battle in town`. Unfortunately, during adjusting we bumped into the next issue - there are only 8 meters available in width/height of the building to be covered by armor :(

BTW
Would be cool to place on the walls some logos, i.e.:
- Sieg oder Tod
- Berlin bleibt deutch
- Um Freiheit und Leben
- Für Führer und Vaterland
- Wir kapitulieren nie

I think we've scenario for the next mission:
http://en.academic.ru/dic.nsf/enwiki/587741#sel=32:100,32:118

The Battle of Halbe lasted from April 24 to May 1, 1945. It was a battle in which the German Ninth Army, under the command of Colonel General Theodor Busse was destroyed by the Red Army during the Battle for Berlin.

The Ninth Army, trapped in a large pocket in the Spree Forest region south-east of Berlin, attempted to breakout of the pocket westwards through the village of Halbe and the pine forests south of Berlin to link up with the German Twelfth Army commanded by General Walther Wenck with the intention of heading west and surrendering to the Western Allies. To do this the Ninth Army had to fight their way through three lines of Soviet troops of the 1st Ukrainian Front, while at the same time units of the 1st Belorussian Front attacked the German rearguard from the north east.

After very heavy fighting about 25,000 German soldiers—one third of those trapped in the pocket—managed to reach the comparative safety of the Twelfth Army's front lines. The rest were either killed or captured by the Soviets.
The number of tanks reported included in the Ninth Army were: 36 tanks in XI SS Panzer Corps, including up to 14 King Tigers of the 502nd SS Heavy Panzer Battalion.

PS
Would be interesting to use instead Tiger II the new Panther G with schmalturm turret.

First section of the `fortified house` now has operational status. Attacking infantry shoots through the windows, tanks shoots to the ammo_boxes and defenders makes a fire wall before attakers! House boom, tank kaboom! Looks cool!
It has 4 variants of the crew:
- no crew
- 2xMG, 1xRPG, 1xMP38, 1 sniper
- 1xMG, 1xRPG, 2xMP38, 1 sniper
- 2xRPG, 3xMP38

The work that is going into this mission looks excellent. Will there be dug in IS-1 tanks units included with this mission/s?

Quote... tank-hunting teams blew up some of the dug-in Soviet tanks.

I was wondering why the the Red Army was almost in a defensive mood instead of using these heavy armor units for offensive attack... especially when the Red Army had more than a 6 to 1 tank ratio in the battle?

No. According to scenario - soviet troops attacks german town. Can u enclose appropriate picture `dug in IS-1 tank`?

tank-hunting teams blew up some of the dug-in Soviet tanks.
In this case, there should be mission where german attacks a soviet side.

Yes. U may shoot through the windows, it has only 2mm of armor. Also infantry shoot in defenders through the windows. Three ammo_boxes located Inside house, if u shoot any then house will be destroyed.

Can you only shoot through the windows?  I would think a tanks gun would penetrate a buildings wall, no?

Thanks for these missions, they look great!  :)

I don't want to open all secrets :) Let's will73 will give answer  8)

A photo of a dug in or hull down JS-2 tank.
Thanks for the photo, though this `dug in` u may easily make in the game editor. Just create an appropriate trench and place inside IS-3. There is no need to make additional model like pantherturm.

THANKS to all for the good words!
There are two buildings left to be implemented in the game and also a new pillbox still waiting for his turn to be adjusted.

You can shoot through walls armor-piercing projectiles, find an equivalent 50mm steel wall

So, now 4 fortified-buildings from 8 are available. There are 4 left.
(http://s5.postimg.org/k66qkb4sz/011.jpg) (http://postimg.org/image/k66qkb4sz/)

All buildings are very good equipped (rpg, mg, rifle, mp38) and has 8-9 soldiers.
I tried to play 3 buildings vs 4 T-34/42+infantry platoon. The distance was abt 200 meters. No additional AT guns/pantherturm/fences/infantry.
After ~2 minutes all my infantry were killed, next 5 min. 3 tanks destroyed and two buildings terminated. One building still remain alive and MGunner continued shooting.
Well, I may say that it's a very hard task to fight in the town. But it's a very unusual and of course it'll require a new skill how to fight in the town conditions  8)
The defenders has a very strong decision to fight to the last cartridge :)

make a mission with a barrage of artillery and or Katyushas rockets.
It's already implemented ;) There will be a massive artillery strike (120mm howitzer) and BM-13. Then soviet tanks with desant will rush in attack. Depends on the difficulty there will be a couple IL-2. German side besides fortified-buiildings (I'm planning 48pcs) also has a couple Nebelwerfers, 5-6 standard and new pillboxes. Plus AT guns, pantherthurms, fencings, barrages, AT trenches.  I think attacking part of the mission will be more interesting then defending.
The main target of attacker is railroad station. There are three ways how to get it:
- go to the left of the town
- go to the right of the town
- go through the town
Because of the terrible losses in infantry, I'm planning to include additional moto-infantry for the soviet side, which will arrive to the battle depending on the conditions, thus to avoid an overloading of the PC with a big quantity of the infantry at the same time.

How about sending further Soviet infantry reinforcement using the delay( timer) feature in the ME.You station them at the edge of the map where they won't add too much load to the mission. Since most of the regular forces will have already been destroyed by the time the reinforcements arrive this should not impact the fps too much....

Timer is not good idea. Trigger is much better. There will be a several conditions when trigger switch on and moto-infatry will come to the appropriate point.
First conditions when sov. tanks will arrive to the town. We can make radio message:
- We need infantry support urgently!
- OK. Moto-infantry sent.

Second conditions, i.e. when tanks arrive to the middle of the town or tanks/infantry has losses 3 times.
And moto-infantry will be located out of the working area of the polygon.
Unfortunately, there is no possibility to make transportation of the guns and give a flame thrower(vognemet) to the infantry :(

PS
Five buildings are ready! (Building #02 has two sections)

Beautiful houses, but it would be nice to rotate them a bunch of broken bricks (ruined house) through which you can move the tank. After Europe while hard and bombed day and night. Thank you.

Must give a big hand to all that have labored producing this Sieg oder Tod mission. Thank's!

This is a mission that has you looking around to see if your still here on planet earth afterwards, if you survive that long. But not to give away the endding to this mission, but bringing along a good kevlar helmet and flack jacket would be very handy!  ;D

I run with 1980x1080 aspect and have applied the widescreen fix, but still do not have the full sights as in your screenshot.

Correction, found my problem, I did not add the fix. Now I'm back in business again.  ;)

Now it looks much better!

And here is a screenshot before mission will start. On the picture all fort-buildings has a tactic mark as `pillbox`, but it looks a very strange. So, we decided to change it for smth. different, i.e. let it be `triangle`, some kind of the`observation point`.

I've held on successfully mission at the balance 5 from the 10th attempt. I had to reduce the firing angle for IL-2, because it shoot at me almost at 45 degrees

First I go through the station to the left flank and hit all the tanks of the opponent and then killing those who got through the right flank.

Finally, I've managed to finish mission successfully at the balance `5`:)
It's a very interesting, coz each times a new situation. Suppose this is because of the big area where battle has a place. Bat there is a VERY HUGE minus - my FPS was no more then 12 :(  :-\  :'(
Well, it's possible to play however, but lugs doesn't bring a pleasure. Anyway, it works and a new feelings of the game are guaranteed  8)

PS
And that was a first-time when I managed to play as commander! As it appeared, there was a magic key "~", by pressing it - the barrel goes to the course of the tank(center of the commander's view).

Today, friends, let's start with a new mission for the soviet side! This is from the T-34/85 views.

PS
Well, actually when I see on these pictures (which I made by myself during testing), I think to myself - this is a great game! (inspite it has more then six years). So, what the reason - do not continue on work with this game - I just don't understand. There are so much potential, so much innovations, so much abilities to play with a map and... nothing to be continued  :-\

Game play FPS of the Sieg oder Tod have been right around 20-23 during the heavy fighting, with the lowest FPS in between 17-19.

Still have not survived a full mission quite yet... but was real close to gunning down one of those IL-2.  ;D

:D
Do u still try alpha version of the mission? If so, then I recommend u a final variant from the MP3.3c. It's more easy and variable.

was real close to gunning down one of those IL-2.  ;D
Still can't figure out how to get rid off the IL-2. They makes me crazy and really got me by their barking sound of the shooting ;D
BTW
U've a choice to shot the planes, but if u replace a default ones on the other with 1LOD.

PS
(http://s5.postimg.org/5txjxzmkz/hit_0017.jpg) (http://postimg.org/image/5txjxzmkz/)
It wasn't a lucky day for me :)
The game didn't define, which tank hited me. As we can see it was undercaliber shell and it didn't even  penetrate through the armour, but killed 4 members of the crew.
Perhaps, this happened, coz I added 50gramm of explosive to the Panther`s undercaliber shell ;D
And that was balance "3", enemy 2 exp., allies 4 exp.
Pay attention to the FPS (During mission it was 7-10). I've Athlon 6000+(3.1Ghz)
And here's a backimage for the mission: Destroy the Fatherland!(T-34/85)
(http://s5.postimg.org/edgxvquxf/destr_t34.jpg) (http://postimg.org/image/edgxvquxf/)
For thouse who wants to test the mission d/l Destroy Fatherland (http://www.4shared.com/rar/Lk2kr-cIce/Destroy_town.html).

Installation:
1. Unofficial patch_SF_v0.1_(ENG)
2. Sound Mod (NTA) 1.1
3. Missions pack v1.1(optional)
4. Missions pack v2.1(optional)
5. SPM (NTA) 1.8 full(beta)
6. Mission_Pack_3.3c
7. Febr_Upd_2014
8. Destroy_town

Yes, still using alpha mission, really want to survive at least one full mission. Almost did... but a T-34 worked in behind me at the last minute and that was it, game over.  LoL  ;D

They makes me crazy and really got me by their barking sound of the shooting.

They are very persistent bugger's, wish our wing men in IL-2 FB were so dedicated! LoL

Will give "Destroy the Fatherland!(T-34/85)" a try, look's like another pressing and desperate mission. Wicked!  8)
