Title: re: AI improvement for human player forces?
Post by: davidx on March 11, 2016, 06:52:08 PM
Hello,

Has there been any AI improvement for humans player units?

In my opinion in GTOS:

1. AI path selection for vehicles could use serious improvement, this has been noted by others

2. Even more detrimental to game play, is target selection and target retention, probably for all units but especially vehicles. This may typically seen as an armored vehicles spots or even engages a  dangerous  weapon, armor or more typically a gun position. The vehicle loses contact for a instant, maybe goes behind a tree, building or bush, and the unit appears to totally forget that that dangerous weapon existed only a second ago. This is not the "all seeing player view" issue in games of this type. The vehicle actually has spotted or engaged the opposing weapon just recently with respect to the graviteam game system.

From my perspective, Graviteam will never complete in "eye candy" graphics against major development studios. I can download RTS "war games" from even 2008 timeframe that that make GTOS, or even Mius front look clunky. I don't play those "eye candy" games, because, like most things purely visual they get old really quick. GTOS/MF graphics though are more than adequate to provide the game environment while providing a good game.

I hope Mius front is a good game.

regards,

TAC AI has improved lots. Also visually and audio during battles has been improved lots aswell. It looks amazing once the battle starts.  GTMF improves on GTOS in every department. It's stunning. Honestly I wasn't expecting any real difference visually over GTOS and at first galnce it seems confirmed..however once the battle starts it's something to behold.
