Title: Help please ammo loadouts
Post by: Aces on March 14, 2011, 10:04:27 AM
Hi folks,

Can anyone please point me in the right direction for the names of the files that contain the ammo loadouts for different tanks. I'd like to change a couple of things.

thanks in anticipation,

best regards,

Aces

Folder ...Steel Fury - Kharkov 1942\data\k42\loc_rus\levels\LEVELS\tech_cfg.
Let's say tiger.engcfg Open it and looking for:
shells()
{
PZGR39_88K, 39, 0, 0;
PZGR40_88K, 5, 0, 0;
SPRGR_88K, 38, 0, 1;
BUL_792, 5100;
}

i.e.
PZGR39_88K, 39, 0, 0;
where
PZGR39_88K - AP shell name
39 - shells quantity
0 - cartridge clip quantity
0 - keyboard button ("0" means "1")

Excellent!!,

Thanks you very much for the info I'll have a look this evening. I just wan't to make a very small change to the ammo loadout on the Pz.IIIJ to increase to a total of 84 rounds.

Kind regards

  You might as well change the ammo load for the Tiger I, II and Panther D as well as they are incorrect

BTW, if you wish to change data on the shells and guns proper you have to go into:...Steel Fury - Kharkov 1942\data\k42\loc_rus\levels\LEVELS\common/common resolutions

Hi mate,

Yes, I think I'll probably end up changing them all :)

I'm more interested right now in the Pz. II, III and IVs. and StuG IIIs.

Thanks for the additional information very interesting.

Kind regards

I need to look again at which variants are modelled I'll probably end up doing them all though.

One thing I don't quite understand is the following example for MG-34 rounds :

BUL_792, 5100;

Presumably BUL = bullets, 792 = the "clip size" and 5100 the total amount of MG rounds carried.

Unless the 792 represents the caliber of the MG ammo in mm 792mm would be right.

AFAIK without checking my library, most panzers had the MG-34 belts containing 250 rounds maximum (50 round belts joined together) where does the heck does 792 rounds come from?. Even using the 50 round "Gurttrommel 34" drums or the earlier 75 round "Partonentrommel 34" saddle drums one cannot get that figure. I'll probably work on the 150 round ammunition bag as the norm.

Best

BUL_792 is a name for the bullet vs appropriate characteristics. It's describes in common_res.engcfg
U may call it cinderella ;) It doesn't make anything.

 792 probably refers to calibre 7.92 mm mauser bullets that were the standards MG bullets in the German Armed forces.  When you play the game you see how many rounds and loads does your tank have at the lower left of your screen just under the shell complement
