Hello,
after the new patch my game doesn't start anymore. The updater shows me district version 1.00 and game version 3.04 even after update.

Did you install Core update (op_star_game_update_v580_eng_v2) first?

And you should also install the latest version of DirectX from Microsoft:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109.

It won't work without it:

Hey Plugger.
I bought the game from the same place a couple of days ago. This is how I handled the patches, after a few failed attempts.
First of all, you have to download the:
- Core Update
- Current Patch_may12-eng
- Polygons Update (optional)
from Graviteam's patch page: http://www.graviteam.ua/help/download-patches.html
Then, you install the Core Update. Just tell the installer to throw the files into APOS main directory.
After installation, an Updater window with unpopulated list will open, but I just ignored it. Looks like the installer overwrites the old APOS files, so no Installations from within the Updater are necessary. Or so I think. Wink
Next, you install the Current Patch_may12-eng. Let the installer unpack it to some directory within the APOS main folder. I made a dir called patch_1.
The third step is to install the Polygons Update. Same thing as with Current Patch_may12, but I've named the directory: patch_2.
Install both DLCs - Volokonovka and Sokolovo. I've thrown them to volokonovka_dlc and sokolovo_dlc folders within APOS main directory.
Install this thingie from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109. It's said it won't work without it: http://graviteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=10323.msg23237#msg23237
The last thing to do is to open the Updater and install the Current Patch_may12, Polygons Update and both extensions. You then have to reorder them in the following sequence:
1. Game Update 3.08
2. District Update 1.03
3. Addon Blau 1942 1.06
4. Addon Sokolovo 1942 1.05
And enable all of them if any is disabled. Save and Play.

One thing worth noting.
The game didn't work for me when I tried to launch it before Current Patch_may12-eng installation and - with Current Patch_may12-eng installed, but without Polygons Update (optional). I guess you have to have all the patches installed (even the optional one) before it launches.
That's what I did, except I left out the DLC's but I suppose that isnt the problem.

My fault, I thought I installed the may patch but it was the may district patch.
Now when I start the game it crashes with
Quote
Critical error
002: An error has occurred while initializing objects

[ i_opgame:opgame -> i_lines2d:lines2d ]
What could be the problem now?

Bob, you may want to take a look at this. I had the exact same problem:
(...)
In my case, when I installed only the op_star_game_update_v580_eng_v2 patch, the game did not start! Starter.exe was on the process list in Task Manager, but did nothing. Nothing at all. Then I copied the k43t_apos_patch_may12_eng_v3 patch into game directory and installed it with Game Updater. I've launched the game, but it crashed with some weird message about some 2D lines/vectors or whatever.
So, I installed the third patch: k43t_apos_upd_dist_taran_rakit_may12_eng and the game worked. Wink

And you didn't forget to install DirectX (June 2010)?

Restarted everything, now it works. No idea where I've screwed up previously, but I don't care. At least the game runs now.  Grin
