Fire arcs

Is it just me,
Or has anybody else noticed the fire arcs dont seem to work as they used to.
It doesnt seem to matter how i set them, my troops, guns or tanks open fire as soon as they have contacts, no matter what the distance.
Im pretty sure before they held fire until the enemy was inside the "fire arc".
And another quick one, i now see you can assign a key to say a Company Commander, but how can you cycle through the squads like you could before, without having to assign a key to every squad (there are not enough keys!)
If i use the next or previous Platoon buttons my game 001 crashes!

As you can see from the screen shot the highlighted (orange) MG42 has opened up and killed several of the approaching enemy, even though they are outside of the fire arc.

To cycle through the squads means, to go through the squads in a selected platoon one at a time using the keyboard, not selecting with the mouse.
ie. to be able to go through the squads in a platoon with the interface disabled.
You used to be able to do it, but i cant figure out how to do it now, if you indeed still can?

Thanks. This case now not repeated. May be fixed from last patch.

Now this hot keys is discarded due to a potencial large number of squads (more than numeric keys count).
