Wow! Thanks Dane!
It's incredible how familiar those regions appear after playing AP series. One can even recognise the similar shape of the woods near the major settlements to the ones from the simulation. Hell, I could even indicate a place of every battle I had the pleasure to play, just by looking at Google maps. 8) Just fired up Google Earth to take a closer look...
I simply love the detail that Graviteam has put into reconstructing terrain from historical and present maps. A pity though that Google Earth doesn't have any historical photos of Kharkov area. Only those dating back to 2000.

P.S. Should it be Taranovka or Taranivka? <looks around in confusion>

Wouldn't that be funny if it was on the map.Every time you have a problem or get frustrated with the games performance, you just call an air or artillery strike on the Graviteam HQ office building Smiley

Now thats what i call an area of operations,
Can you imagine that map divided up into squares, with maps of 10x10 squares.
With the battles in 3x3 square areas, exactly like APOS now.
And with all the Russian and German units in the area.
It might take a while to map out, although it looks as thought about a quarter is already done.
And you may have to tweek the re-supply method abit, but wow,
I would pay good money for a game like that!! Grin

preferably zoomed in so as able to see the elevation/height?

Thanks.
