Fixed the Panzer IVF and H

Went back over the Panzer III skin. I'm not sure if I like it or not yet..

Whoever said your skins needed fixing?  Huh?

Don't go overboard with the hard-edge camo. There're plenty of pictorial references to spray-painted camo, so stick with them.

AS always Whukid I love your skins Cheesy. They are standard in all my installations the:  Tiger I and II. the Panzer III, IVF2, H, the Elefant etc...Could you do a new one for the Stug III Gs...I hate the default ones....

Thanks guys! I'm going back over my old stuff with new techniques I've learned doing the IDF and African mods. I was considering going back and re-doing the APOS release, but I really am not a fan of that game Tongue

I could certainly give the Stug a shot Smiley

Nice work, I dig both the spray paint and hard-edge ones. A skin for the StuG III F would indeed be most welcome.

Hi,

As I stated earlier, your skins don't need fixing.
However, there is something I might suggest.  Grin
The base yellow color on some of the skins needs to be a little less green, a bit more tan / light brown. In other words, the 'dunkelgelb' color.
If you're wondering what I'm gibbering about,  Cheesy
take the base color of the Panzer IVH and make it less saturated - that should be pretty close to what I described. And of course, try to replicate that shade in your other skins,

Yes, that's one thing I have yet to do; uniform my dunkelgelb's. It would be nice if we knew what color it was to begin with.. Cheesy

Therein lies the rub. There's quite a bit of debate about the exact shade.

I think what it boils down to is that the basic color is quite a light one, and it's influenced a great deal by

- the color of the undercoat (red oxide primer)
- ambient lighting - looks yellower in bright sunlight, redder / grayer in low light
- normal weathering / fading
- the scale effect i.e. larger objects painted with the same color look lighter

As a useful guide, below are some generally accepted examples:

either

or

or something in between.

An update on the Stug, after about 3 hours of dedicated grafting;

So how's this coming along then? The StuG's Dunkelgelb seems spot on, but that's a StuG III G, which already has a decent enough texture - the III F is the one with the horrendous skin atm. I'd be satisfied even with just a plain Dunkelgelb skin for it (which is a cool idea for a variation mod as well, as the crews often lacked the time to paint camo patterns on vehicles and used them with just the factory paintjob [which, again, is something you're doubtless aware of Smiley])

I feel you, but it's good that you're at least finding a bit of time to sink into the StuG, looks promising so far Smiley

And Happy Easter to all of youse guys Smiley
