That's nothing short of brilliant. Did you take a note from Flashburn on creating rifle-grenades?

I do recall mentioning it a while back, might've been me. But that's irrelevant, you're the one who did all the work, and congrats on the great results! Smiley

Hi chaps,

My mistake, it was KapulA that gave me the idea. Basically I've replaced the pzb39s and gzb39s with it. As the gzb39 had the same grenade launcher "cup" attachment as the kar98k and fired the same three rifle grenade ammuniton types then it makes a good substitute I think. I'm in two minds as to whether to remove the heavy anti-tank grenade, as shown in the picture and just use the rifle grenade attachment as it looks a bit odd with the grenade attached still after firing but the choice is yours Smiley.

Best

Personally, I'd prefer it to have the look of the GzB, ie no grenade visible since it's kindof pointless to have the grenade visible at all times - a question regarding the Schiessbecher, if I may - could you use fire the rifle regularly with the 'cup' mounted (but no grenade inserted) or did the 'cup' block the sights or some other vital part of the rifle?

Hi  mate,

I agree, I haven't been able to find much about whether the rifle could still be used as a rifle with the launcher fitted but I doubt it. I did find this:

"The Schiessbecher (German spelling: Schießbecher - literally "shooting cup") grenade launcher or Gewehrgranatengerät (literally "rifle grenade device") was used by German forces in World War II. It was introduced as of 1942 and based on rifle grenade launcher models designed during World War I. The Schiessbecher was intended to replace all previous rifle grenade launcher models.

The Schiessbecher rifle grenade launcher could be used against infantry, fortifications and light armored vehicles up to a range of 280 m (310 yd). For these differing tasks several specialized grenades with accompanying special propelling cartridges were developed for the Schiessbecher rifle grenade launchers. The rifle grenade propelling cartridges fired a wooden projectile through the barrel to the rifle grenade that upon impact automatically primed the rifle grenade.

The Schiessbecher had a short rifled barrel with a caliber of 30 mm (1.2 in) and a length of 250 mm (9.8 in). It weighed 750 g (26 oz) and could be attached to weapons chambered for 7.92x57mm or 7.92×33mm Kurz ammunition like the Karabiner 98k, Karabiner 98a, G98/40, StG 44 and FG 42.[1] A rather complicated aiming device was mounted to the left of the original sights and allowed for aiming ranges from 0 of up to 250 m (270 yd) in 25 m (27 yd) increments. The Schiessbecher was produced until May 1944. The total production was 1,450,114.[2]"

---

I'm not sure if the device had to be removed though but it would at least temporarily prevent the rifle being used to fire normal amunition as the "bullet" was a wooden one. The thing that I think is un-realistic is that the rifle butt should be placed against the ground when firing as the recoil would have been very strong if fired from the shoulder. But I'm sure that this would need a new animation pose.

Regards

Aces
