Many thanks, Andrey, - I've got it working now.

Kind of obvious  Embarrassed, but I hadn't downloaded the patch, - it doesn't say you need to in the instructions at the top of this thread. I still don't know why we need a core update and a patch, - some technical reason no doubt, - but to me an update and a patch are the same thing, so I was confused. I think some words about what the core patch does and what the update does would be helpful, next to the links, and to mention that you have to download both before you can do anything with either them.

To be fair, it does say to down load the 5.81 up date and the patch in item 1.

Hey gang. How large is the AP-STAR/k43t_apos_patch_aug12_eng.gt2extension file? The browser can't determine its size and it has been downloading it for at least 2 hours already (61KBps). Downloaded 362 MBs and still suckin' the file from the net.

Oh, and just to be sure. I install the 5.81 first, on top of everything I have right now: 5.80 + DLCs and then install the gt2extension aug patch the moment the update window pops up?

491,364kb.
I don't have the DLC but that is the process that I used.

Installing a patch shouldn't be this  silly-3 pages in a forum string?
Gravieteam has to work on a different method.  Roll Eyes

This method is very easy, and will remain. The entire patch installation takes only four clicks:
1) Start update utility.
2) Install button.
3) Select patch file.
4) Save&Play button.

Sure it is easy, but only if you know what and how it works. Be honest 99% of all games use a simply single file to patch there games without any need for the player to do something except maybe to choose the correct location.

It would be good to make a FULL and CURRENT guide that includes the polygon pack and all DLCs in the first post, it really makes no sense to scatter info over 3 pages and still haven't covered all.

So when do I install the DLCs?
For now I installed the game, after that the patch and after that the polygon pack.
I assume that the DLCs go in last but is there order somehow important???

Also the info from the first post in this thread: http://graviteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=10844.0 should be included so the players knows if he really is up-to-date.

For now I installed the game, the engine update, the patch, the map patch, Sokolovo DLC & Volokonovka DLC and my Versions are:
Engine:                                         5.81 version(1980)
Game update:                               3.09 version
District update:                             1.03 version
Addon Sokolovo 1943:                   1.05 version
Addon Blau 1942:                          1.06 version

Please don't tell me that every publisher(got my from Strategy First) does his own updates, I got the game and both DLCs from Strategy First and they only have the old 577 and February patch, the updates I used are all from http://www.graviteam.ua/

So what's the real McCoy here?

I know, that is where I got the higher version numbers from and looking at the versions I have made me suspicious.
Or should the engine and game update be installed after the DLCs so they may update them?

Already send a message to their support, but I'm a bit worried if anything will really be done as the latest DLC isn't even available at SF, it seems the cooperation has ended and with that also the support, that would also explain why SF has still the old engine update and patch as the latest Downloads for APOS not 5.81 or the August patch.

Yea well what keeps Graviteam from stopping cooperation with GamersGate just like it seems to has stopped cooperation with StrategyFirst?
If there is no place I can be sure to buy AND be supported, why should I buy at all?
Maybe they should simply start their own shop.

Regarding patch, is the order in the updater of any relevance?
I have it this way:
1. Addon Sokolovo 1943
2. Addon Blau 1942
3. District update
4. Game update
