CTD in Campaign

Hi,

I Run APOS 5.81

6.05 - enable
6.08 - enable
6.11 - disable
6.15 - 1

Ms Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit SPI
Intel Core i7-2630QM CPU 2 Ghz, 2Gb RAM , NVidia GeForce GTX 460M

 and I stil got CTD in 50% during tactical inside a campaign.

"Critical error
001: An error has occurred while initializing the program"

Any idea ?

Many months ago I was having this problem.  If I recall correctly, these are the steps I had to take to finally fix it.

1. Delete your profile inside the game (you have to first create a new one).
2. THEN do a full uninstall and re-install.  (Remember - this is only my experience.  Without deleting the profile I think an earlier re-install I did didn't work.  The profile is stored somewhere else on your machine, if I recall).
3. Patch with the latest patch.
4. Start a new campaign.
5. I also toned down my graphics settings a little although I don't know if that made any difference as it didn't help before the re-install. I think it was the new smoke and dust that I reduced the most.

After I did that everything worked flawlessly ever since.  Prior to that I had tried all manner of things but the game kept on crashing.

Hi,

It still crash. I can set up a quit battle with 9 Inf Plat + 5 AFV Plat + Art support + snow and nothing crash, If I got a quatter of this in a campaign ... CTD  Is it related to map? to night ?

That's frustrating.  Are you sure you wiped everything completely before re-installing?  Did you create a new profile AFTER the re-install or was your old profile still showing?

If the CTD is only happening in the campaign, it's probably not a graphics or memory issue.

Have you tried any other campaigns?  Does it happen in every one?

Whatever the campaign, whatever new profile or lowering the video setting it's always a CTD, I never reach the third turn of any camp.

I hope a new update will solve this one day.

If you put the video settings to the minimum, and turn off the sound at all?

If it is possible to hold such an experiment.

I succeed in updating APOS with the Aug12 Update (previous one not from graviteam.ua didn't work ) and run 4 battles  in the same campaign without CTD  .

I didn't change any setting from what I already post and did change anything about sounds.

Plan to run more battles this week and give a quick feeback.

By the way what result gives the 3d buffer 2.02 ? (Increasing it does it help the game running ?).
