Dane -
Is PatchPae2.exe actually located in .\system32?  (earlier you said you had it in a new folder on C:)  I suspect the \system32 is related to running BCDedit,  but that isn't obvious in the instructions.
You have a typo in your command entry o not -o   is that what you entered?

You know you can copy/paste/select etc in a CMD window?
see
http://unlockforus.blogspot.co.uk/2009/06/how-to-copy-paste-text-from-cmd-or.html

Might help with copying the command & BCD strings etc.

Yes I extracted the patch to C:\Windows\System32
I copied and pasted here exactly what was on my Cmd prompter.
I'll try the -o this time.

Still no luck Embarrassed

If someone could copy and paste exactly what is on their cmd prompter here,I may be able to figure it out.
I've never used the cmd prompter before and think I may be over looking something simple and basic, but haven't a clue as to what.

I'm using x64 so I can't test but it should look like this for W7 if the patchpae2.exe is in \system32:

Code:
C:\Windows\system32>PatchPae2.exe -type kernel -o ntkrnlpx.exe ntkrnlpa.exe

You can try right-click & pasting the above line (the bit after '>') into your cmd box.

C:\Windows\system32> = path to file
PatchPae2.exe = file
-type kernel -o = switches (what the exe must do) must be -[switch] ie no space between - & switch
ntkrnlpx.exe ntkrnlpa.exe = target(s) - these are the things to be changed

That will be the format for each instruction.

ensure you have no typos, no extra spaces, that the "-" is in place etc
make sure it is an admin rghts cmd box.  It will say 'administrator' on the top bar
make sure your AV allows it to run - it will access core OS files so most AV will think it is suspect.

I would like to warn you all to get back on topic. This thread is about the bitness of the OS you use, not about miraculous stuff.

I'm still using Win XP, but I'll switch to Win 7 64 bit when I can get more RAM (I only have 2GB, which could be a problem with a 64 bit OS).
