Trying to download the steel tank add on but the download isn't starting. Any idea why

It's hosted on file4share and you need to register and open a free account in order to be able to download.

It's probably your anti-virus software. Try disabling it temporarily, you can (and perhaps should) verify the file after downloading anyway.

got it installed and now installing the janupdate. When I try to start the game a program called starter pops up is that normal?

Try to start the game with STA, program called "starter" pops up and I guess it tried to start the game but this note just popped up instead with two lines with question marks

Hi All,

 I am completely new to SF and found some great looking mods.  The community seems very supportive as well.  I'd like to download the most recently updated mods (I assume that is STA 3.3).

1.) Do I have to download STA1.2 and anything else prior to that to 'build' on those mods in order to install STA 3.3?
2.) Many of the hyperlinks posted out there are no longer active, does anyone have an STA 3.3 mod link I can just click and use JSMGE to install?
3.) The 'installation' list on http://stasf2008.forumotion.com/t805-stasteel-tank-add-on-3-3-steel-fury doesn't have STA 3.3 as a clickable hyperlink, I am sort of lost on where to get it/what to do.

Any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated. This is the first game I've bought from Graviteam and it has amazing potential. Too bad what happened with Lighthouse.

I'm having a problem with STA 2.2, I'm sure it's on 1.2 as well

So when I installed it, I did all addons in order.
The main game
The optional.
I applied the patch

But when I launched it, it didn't launch the mod, it launched the Vanilla
Yes, I installed it using a mod loader. (JSGME)
Please I'll need this answer as soon as possible.

Does not exist. I wasted $$ buying this POS from Steam hoping it would at least be playable. Out of the box it's crap, transparent tank views and all, add STA (any version, some just crash) and its no better..

OOB, the Steam SF is perfectly playable and far from being poo.

An alternative to the STA mod (now ITM mod) is the Japanese Community Mod which is available here, just translate the pages and follow the instructions and download links. Lots of new content, some unique to this mod.

PS some pics taken from my Steam copy of Steel Fury, before applying the JCM mod to it - with the options set up for my system, as others have found, it plays fine 'out of the box' and looks great. The widescreen screenshots when posted here are are slightly offset to the right, but this effect is not in the originals or in-game.









The tank interior, animated 3-d 'cockpit views all work fine too.

With the JCM mod downloaded and enabled via JSGME, it's even better.
