Hello everyone, I am in need of some help here.

I just recently reinstalled Graviteam Tactics: Mius-Front, and went to launch the game and was greeted with the Graviteam logo and Critical Error: 003.

All of my drivers are up to date. Attached https://mega.nz/file/QLQizToQ#KOTQ-tpaj8GIYNvHxUhFwSw5B0ZGGp_PTLRHhX9dEus will be my DxDiag.

I really don't know how to proceed and need some help.

Thank you, everyone.

*EDIT: I just saw to upload a crash report, there wasn't one generated in my /out/ folder....

Try installing the DirectX redistributable: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109.

Perhaps try disabling the second GPU. Also, verify that DirectDraw, Direct3D and AGP texture acceleration are enabled in dxdiag in the Directx features panel now with the DX redist installed.

I don't have a second GPU but I have unplugged the inputs for my HTC Vive. After Running my DxDiag this is the following: https://pastebin.com/pz0zFHNz

I really appreciate all the help so far.... I do have a second monitor that's also a drawing tablet, I don't know if that's causing a problem somehow?

Dxdiag shows that accelerations are still disabled for some reason. Try installing both DX and VC redistributables in the _CommonRedist folder from the game folder just to be sure.

You'll have to explain to me where this is:

this is my folder address: G:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Graviteam Tactics Mius-Front

Inside of the main game directory following folders and items. I checked them all and I don't see the  _CommonRedist folder? Is it in My Documents??

Again, thank you so much for the help, I hate feeling like a moron here.

I'm sorry, I haven't checked and Steam had changed the location of the redistributables some time ago. Look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist, you need DirectX\Jun2010 and vcredist\2015.

So,

I've done all of that and Mius-Front still won't launch but for just a try, I went to install and launch "Operation Star" and it worked perfectly fine.

At this point is there a way that I can clean uninstall both DirectX and VC redistributables and in doing so, do you think that would work?

As always, thank you so much for the help. I don't get why Mius-Front and Tank Warfare: Tunisia 1943 won't launch but Operation Star will.

The pastebin link takes you to the common engine.log comparison between Operation Star and Mius-Front. I don't know if this helps but after looking at both the only real thing I see being the start of my problem is the following, " WARNING: 16:39:34.609  [i_render:render] Max AA levels 0 (16) "

I am guessing this is where the original tips/idea you said came from.

I have been digging around and can't see any sort of "settings" file on my PC that Mius-Front creates either in my game folder or Documents folder. Is there any sort of file and if so could it be forced to properly target what is needed?

I know I am reaching here, I just want this to work....

This is something very strange. Try verifying Steam cache if you haven't already. Otherwise, it seems that 64-bit version of DX runtime is not installed or maybe disabled. Check that Hardware acceleration is on Full in the Display adapter properties, see this article: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/hardware-acceleration-windows-7, the Display Adapter Troubleshooter thing. If it isn't there, try running DX Control Panel, and check that Allow hardware acceleration is enabled there on various tabs.

Okay, so I have a weird as hell update....

I just ran DxDiag as administrator through that MAJORGEEKS link you gave me (directx.cpl). It then generated this https://pastebin.com/mZXe9B1g

So, this version of DxDiag is in 32bit (x86) and shows that everything is running as it should be, yet x64 shows it isn't.....

Furthermore, and I don't know how much this matters, it appears that the 32bit (x86) version of DxDiag can't read my "Machine ID" but x64 can.....

Hope this helps??

EDIT: I did follow all of those steps to turn on Hardware Acceleration and the Display Adapter Troubleshooter rig. The only thing that I could also think of being a symptom or problem is that my primary monitor is set to a refresh rate of 144hz. Could that also be something throwing the game off?

No, this is clearly a problem with the DirectX 64 bit runtime. Do you have C:\Windows\DirectX.log? It logs the install process of DX redistributable, maybe the issue can be found there.

Thanks, everything seem to be fine here. My guess is that something has disabled the hardware acceleration. If you are familiar with the registry could you check these keys, please:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectDraw - EmulationOnly (DWORD) - should not exist or 0,
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Direct3D\Drivers - SoftwareOnly (DWORD) - should not exist or 0,
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectDraw - DisableAGPSupport (DWORD) - should not exist or 0,
HKLM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\DCI - Timeout (DWORD) - should be 7 (or probably just not 0).
