Do you create new missions using exsisting maps or do you create new landscapes?
I find it very difficult to create a riverflow where i can put a bridge on that fits.
Need to talk to someone to find out if there is a more easier way to fit bridges into the terrain.

Here's a tutor how to create bridge:

How to place bridges?
1) Set up the grid of 4x4 meters.
2) The bridge must be located strictly on the center of the small square 4x4 meters.
3) The contours of impervious zones must be placed out of the small squares bridge, the minimum space must be 2 meters.
4) The contours of the impervious zones must be comes to the land,  for about 5-10 meters, with aim to create a neck (approximately as bridge represent on the maps).
5) And the main thing - the bridges, which you place, assign tactical designation not a bridge, but for example road or something passed.

Thx for the tip.
But i still have a question if the "neck" is create within the height map or is it created using the map editor?
I tired it to create it in the height map.tga file but this is very very difficult.

The base map is created only in a graphic file hei.tga.
After that you can edit the terrain a little bit in the editor.

thx but i don´t need the basics because i know them already.
I just need to find the best way to create a smooth necks so the bridge fits without gaps or bumpy ramps.
In the map editor you can only lower or raise contours but it doesn´t work well and adding the ramps in the hei.map is a pain.

BTW: I still don´t know anyone who creates maps for SF42.

Stone2009, Xream and Deviator have created maps (and missions) for SF, over at the Sukhoi.ru forum.

  Rends you can contact them through Lockie who is active on the Sukhoi.ru Avia forum and since he speaks Russian and these guys I don't think they speak fluent English.....

Stone2009, Xream and Deviator have created maps (and missions) for SF, over at the Sukhoi.ru forum.

No. Original maps from game can't be edited. In game there are no source files of game polygons.
You can edit only new created map.

If there are difficulties with creation of the texture of heights you can try to create random maps with (for example) Terragen.
Terragen creates texture already with mirrored edges (tiled).

I tried to create a bridge. Well, at first glance it looks fine, but finally the bridge was broken and tanks turned upside-down Cheesy
Here is a polygon sample of mine unfortunate attempt(inside a simple mission/script for the tanks moving). Would be pleased, if some1 manage to create a good bridge and upload a polygon sample vs ability to generate it(source files included).
