Here is an wip render on my latest just for fun noob project!




I have one problem. I need to find a texture i can use, I can make a template or something similar if someone wants to help! Because this one i have borrowed from World of Tanks and the skin modmaker is called Stromberg something. Creds to him =)

EDIT:

Finally its here. After lots of swearing, tears and little blood (and many many knocked out russian tanks) let me present to you the Mighty Jagdtiger!

The only thing i didnt include in this release is the updated interior. Im gonna try to finish it later and update the download or make a seperate patch, so just hold on to it!

Updated download to v1.1.

Only a few changes but still important. Its now a little tougher opponent and it bites back even a little harder. For those that doesnt want to download the whole zip again i only made these changes wich you can add manually:

In jagdtiger.engcfg i changed armor_thick 100 to 110 and armor_str from 2000 to 2100 and also armor_frail from 0.2 to 0.1.

In common_res i only changed:

Update 1.2

Biggest change is i added 3 Lods to it and slightly reworked gun mantle. Also i hope i fixed the problem with the radioman/mgunner that didnt shoot sometimes. The big Changelog is in the archive!

Im working as much as i can in my sparetime so it should be ready in 2-3 days i hope. I need to unwrap everything because of the old texture so it takes time, lots of extra time Sad

anyway a little more work, in those renders it was around 6,5k polys and now ive added almost all details on enginedeck/superstructure sides and reworked lots of things and its around 4,1k polys now =)
And there is not so much detailed stuff left so i hope this tank is gonna be real easy on the computer.

Don't cut it down too much, the game can actually take 10,000 triangles and above as the base LOD.

No problem, i only adjusted things, didnt take away a single "good for looks" vertice.


And oh'boy, you are gonna have a tough job to fix the texture, so many small things, but im gonna do the best i can so its not gonna be that hard to make it.
And plz if you want Kyth, any special things you want on template? any effects, color, size? Send PM if you want with so much details as you think you want/need Tongue

a small update:



Is this template acceptable Kyth? Im gonna do a better one that you can work with and in better quality.

I still have a few small things to do like adding wheels and some small stuff on the roof.
I whole "picture" render is coming this evening if i got some more time =)

yeah, i have it in the object editor but i cant figure out how to add the texture to it, its all glowing red Cheesy

But im finished with the model pretty soon, so im gonna export it to .go and then send you the .go file and a few pictures and templates etc =)
im pretty new at this so this is gonna be alot of trial and error Cheesy

Good work!

Now my first moan  Grin the spare-track holders should only be 2 x 4 per side.

The rear exhausts could do with more curvature, and be slightly wider too,



By the way, the side plate appears to have a diagonal crease in it, could be one of the polygons not lying flat with the others,

Well, im pretty shure it can be one of those pesky shadowbugs on max, But im gonna look into it anyway.

About the spare track holders: each 'set' consists of 4 of the Z-shaped pieces and 2 of the little round nubs  Smiley forgot about those,

There appeared to be 2 sets each side at least, but occasionally a 3rd set per side.
